Our original “plan” was to go to Monterey after stopping in Sacramento but our stop in Livermore put us closer to Santa Barbara (one of our first destinations). Steve R. recommended going to Pismo Beach since he had taken his kids there. It was, after all, only a 3 hour drive, but that is by car. We were learning that MARV can't go faster than 55.
We decided to get an earlier start and see how we all felt. If we found ourselves to be done with driving we would just stop half way and find a place to camp. We made it to the half way point (King City) around 2:00. We stopped for lunch and called an RV place in Pismo Beach to see if we could get a reservation that night. Once we knew we had a place to stay we decided to make the final push for Pismo Beach.
We were not disappointed.
As soon as the RV was parked we went to the beach before the sun was setting.
