Warhurst Shirts

Brad's running coach from Michigan has a son named Luke who is a race car driver. He was selling shirts so Brad bought one for each of us.

Jim 2.0

We had this beautiful animal visit our house. We named him Jim 2.0. He hung out for a bit and ate some of our plants.

Chelan

Colt was invited to go to Chelan with some of his friends.  We didn't hear from him but one of the moms sent me these pictures. Obviously they are living their best life.

Beach Day

My friend Sarah and I had our own beach day.  We brought chairs, food, drinks and hung out at the beach for a few hours.  It was wonderful. We hope we can squeeze in one more beach day before the summer is over.

South Cove

It's been hot so I have tried to get the kids down to the beach to cool off. It's also a way for me to cool off too. This is the first summer Bo has been able to pull himself up and stand on the jumping post.

Exploring Whidbey

After the race we went back to the house and had margaritas and some yummy tacos. We also did some stretching.  We took pictures and enjoyed the view.

The next day we had a leisurely morning and then we decided to go to Fort Casey.
It's so beautiful!

Marionberry pie, a deer and a view!

Ragnar Race Report

I have done a few relay races over the years and unfortunately missed out on participating last year. They asked me again if I would be interested. Even though we don't have a "free" weekend in the summer I knew I had to give up something if I wanted to do this.  I was really looking forward to a weekend away.  I wasn't so excited about the actual running part.

We took the ferry over to Whidbey Island.  We stopped for lunch then explored the town a little before heading to our AirBnB.

We met up with another team for dinner.  It was fun to meet them briefly because then we were able to cheer them on during the race.

We started at 5:30 in the morning.  I had the 3rd leg.   My first run was 3.1 miles.  It was ok.  Not as good as I was hoping but I managed to finish.

My 2nd run was 6.8 miles and it was around 1:00 and in a lot of sun.   I made sure I took a few walk breaks because I was a bit concerned about overheating.  (If I was in better shape I probably would not have been so concerned).

I finished and it felt like such a big accomplishment especially since my training hasn't been wonderful.

Getting ready for the exchange.
