I took pictures of Ellis but not too many pictures of anyone else.
We had a fun day and it really is SO much fun having a 2 1/2 year old around.
Keeping up with the Barquist family....one day at a time.

The boys tried to play a catching football game but had some trouble getting all the passes down.
I am looking for "desks" for our remote learning this year. Grammy & Fafa brought this card table that we might be able to use. Since it is also a game board it was also used during our camping trip.
This is Brad & Darby in an intense game of checkers.
We had a fun time celebrating Colt's birthday. He opened his presents and then ate brookies instead of cupcakes. The only bummer is that Papa Bob & Grandma Shari weren't able to be there. But we are looking forward to celebrating with them later.
The kids made some Fairy Towns again. Thanks Annika for the inspiration.
I always buy some Fantasy Football magazines and other ones to enjoy around the campfire. The kids were asking for them this year and it is so great watching the boys get excited about it.
While we were waiting for the party to happen we went down to the river again. I love watching my kids explore in nature.
We went up to Tinkham campground on Thursday evening. This is the first year I actually reserved a spot and thank goodness I did because everyone is camping these days. It was nice to know a campsite was waiting for us instead of hoping we would find one open.
Site #27 is a good one. It has river access and is great for playing rush. We set up our tent and settled in for the night. But we were quickly reminded how loud it is being so close to the freeway.
On Friday, Ollie was one of the first ones up with me so he got the fire ready to go.
Around 1:00 it started raining and we were hoping it would stop. It never did. It just kept alternating between mist, drizzle and rain.
Brad had set up a tarp to go over half the fire and our picnic table. It kept us dry and the kids never complained about the rain.
We brushed our teeth and got into our tent only to notice it was leaking! The kids started complaining, which is very much within reason. Then Brad made the decision to go home.
We brought our backpacks home with us and drove the 30 minutes to sleep in our own beds for the night. It seems like we might be wimpy campers but when your tent is leaking before you even crawl into bed you know its going to be a long night.
We woke up Saturday morning and drove back up to the campsite. Thankfully we were able to redeem our weekend.
