Haircut time

Darby's hair was getting really long.  It was so long that we noticed it was bothering her while she was playing basketball or soccer.  I was trying to find a nice salon so she could get the full salon experience (since it's been over a year since she has had it cut) but we ended up at Great Clips.  And we had to squeeze it in between soccer, basketball, school and dinner.  

Skiing day

 My friend Sarah and I went up to the mountain to practice our skiing.  My hope is to be decent enough to hang with my kids on some of the mountain.   We had some sunshine and a lot of fun.  

Middle school basketball

Ollie and Colt both started their first games of middle school basketball.  It's definitely a lot different especially as the boys grow (and some don't grow). 

Bo's last game

Bo had his last basketball game last weekend.  They finished with a win and actually had an impressive season with lots of improvement and only one loss.  Of course Brad was the coach and love his time with Bo. 

Mystery Mullet

Brad cut Colt’s hair the other night and tried to secretly cut this mullet style.   But then he decided he couldn’t hide it from Colt.  

Dad duty

Just doing one of his dad duties. 

PAC NW soccer

Darby also had a soccer tournament over MLK weekend.  They ended up in the finals and went to shoot outs.  I left so I didn't have to watch.  Darby was the first kicker and put it in the back of the net.  Phew!  Her team ended up winning the shootout.   A 1st place finish for her team.

2nd place

Darby’s team lost in the championship but they still managed to clinch a spot in the state playoffs.   All I know is it means more basketball and more traveling and some of it gets to be a bit overwhelming so I'm just taking it a day at a time. 

Bball

Darby had a basketball tournament this last weekend.  It is fun watching her play.  

Colt came to cheer her on but quickly thought it was boring so I spiced it up by taking a selfie.

Family football

We had a beautiful sunny day this past weekend and I forced the kids to go out and play.   We were still keeping our distance from neighbors so it ended up being a forced family football game. 

Covid quarantine

Even though I got Covid right before Christmas and we thought the rest of the family escaped it, it ended up getting Colt.   His symptoms were similar to mine and the timeline was pretty much the same.  This helped knowing what he needed and how soon he would feel better. 

We had to wait in the Urgent Care parking lot for 3 1/2 hours to get him a COVID test.  Our home one was negative but obviously it was  false negative.  We did get subway while we were waiting because it was right across the parking lot.

Catan, smoothies & Skiing

We had fun hanging out with Gunner, Sayler & Zephyr.   They had an epic game of Catan that will go down in the memory books.  

We also had smoothies (Gunner's request) and spent a day up at the mountain. 

Seahawks date

Brad and I went to the Seahawks game against the Detroit Lions.   It was a bit of a rainy game but at least they won.  Always fun to cheer on the Hawks even when they have a dismal season.

Workout bench

Colt got a workout bench for Christmas so here he is working out.  

Sisters

Gunner & Sayler came to town right after Christmas. Darby & Sayler have so much fun together, especially when they get to wear matching outfits. 

Snocker

Once we were out of our quarantine the kids were excited to play some snocker (snow soccer).  Our neighbors just redid their backyard and it's all turf which made for some excellent snocker playing conditions. 

Snow Day

 

It started snowing late Christmas Day so we woke up to this on Sunday Morning.  We love the snow!  

Colt decided to go out without a shirt.  But that only lasted about 5 minutes.
