Turkey Trottin'

Once again we signed up for the Issaquah Turkey Trot.  We love doing this every year. Well, there are a few who aren't as excited about the idea but some day they will be, right?

Brad started with Brody & Colt.  They crushed it finishing the 5K in about 24:11.   Yes, they would have probably beaten me at my best.

So, I ran with Ollie, Darby and Bo.  I borrowed a friend's double stroller and I'm so glad I did.   It was raining so Darby and Bo started off in the stroller.  They both ran for part of the race, but not much.   Ollie, on the other hand, was a rockstar!  He ran the entire race, except when he had to stop and wait for me or Darby & Bo.   And those times he wanted us to keep on going.

We finished and were able to go home and celebrate with donuts!  We are looking forward to doing it again next year.

My kids are getting stronger and faster than me.

Baby Ellis

My cousin Cameo had her baby boy a few weeks ago. I was able to sneak away and hold the sweet little thing. Oh, how I miss that stage.

I could sit all day like this holding him.

Cliff Avril

Our local Albertsons was remodeled and also officially turned into Safeway. As part of their grand re-opening they had a signing by Clif Avril.

Brody was at a friend's house and didn't want to go.

We waited in line and listened to Blue Thunder.

Bo didn't want to get in the picture.

Ollie wanted Clif to sign his mini helmet.  This is about the cutest thing ever.

I also made sure Jessi got a picture with him.

And I got one too.

Bo finally agreed to get his jersey signed.

In the store, Darby got a picture with two of the Seagals.

We chased after Blitz because Ollie wanted his picture.

Hairstyles

Darby asked our neighbors if they could come over and do her hair. They were very happy to.   They brought over a bunch of supplies and made Darby beautiful.

Pictures through a hole

Brad had these pictures on his phone. I think he took them at a park with Darby & Bo.

Wrestling

Some days they talk about how bored they are and act like they don't like being around each other. Then there are other moments or days where they make up games and are laughing and playing with each other. No fighting either. Those moments are magical and make me thankful for all five of my kids.  There is nothing better than sibling love or wrestling matches.

I'm happy to report no one was seriously injured.

Basically, Almost

Brad was fiddling around with Darby's guitar and figured out how to play this jingle.  He was a little pleased with himself.

(In case you don't know what this is about you will have to watch the Peyton Manning/Brad Paisley Nationwide Insurance Commerical)

Soccer in the Snow

Ollie's team played in an end of season jamboree. They actually played up a year and were a little anxious about how they would stack up against older kids. Unfortunately the conditions didn't make for a good game. They were playing in snow.  They lost both of the games they played but were troopers in the snow.

The Ice Box

Brad went to do some returns at the Mall and ended up at Eddie Bauer. He also took Colt with him. Colt went into the ice box which is a room they have at Eddie Bauer to test out their cold weather gear.

Becoming a Legend

Brad has been doing this coaching thing for quite a while.   I don't know exactly how long but its longer than I have known him.

He has created quite a program.  His team was very good this year and Brad was excited about the idea of taking home the state championship.   His boys ran well but not as well as the team that ended up in first.

2nd place two years in a row is pretty darn good.

Sewing Lessons

Our neighbors gave us a kid sized sewing machine. Darby was so excited to show Grammy. Unfortunately it still needs to be threaded. Grammy had a lot of patience and tried to help her but its still not quite threaded.

Playoff Time

Brad took Colt & Ollie to the Sounders playoff game. It was VERY cold but thankfully they were dressed warm enough that they even got too hot.

It was also great because the Sounders won and advance to the next round of playoffs.
