We were SO excited when the Sounders beat LAFC to advance to the MLS Championship game. We were even more thrilled when Toronto won, meaning Seattle would host the final match.
Since we our season ticket holders we were able to get tickets to the match. We feel so fortunate because these tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes.
We secured a babysitter and I was looking forward to this EPIC game.
An MLS final game in our city!
I woke up Sunday morning feeling off. A few times it even felt like the room was spinning a bit. I laid down and tried to rest hoping it was just nerves or something. But every time I got up I didn't feel well and especially did not feel well enough to enjoy a 4 + hour exciting event.
I broke the news to Brad and he was so patient waiting to see if I was going to get better. He also thought maybe I was just nervous, but I knew this was different.
Colt, on the other hand, was thrilled. He didn't have any sporting events that day so by default he was the kid who got to go.
He had a blast!
The Sounders won 3-1. It was an Epic Seattle Sports Day!
And I watched the game at home, laying on the couch.
Thankfully I did get better as the day went on and although I know it was the right decision it was REALLY hard for me. It was especially hard knowing how special that moment was with the stadium packed to the brim with faithful Sounders fans.
How adorable is this picture?
