Abi's 7th Birthday

We went to Abi's 7th Beach Birthday Party.
As always the kids had a blast and didn't want to go home.

The boys loved the flamingo pinata.

Darby figured out how to blow the noisemaker.

Getting ready for cake

Darby missed her nap and had a tough time making it through cake and ice cream.

A little video of Darby blowing the noise maker.

More Friday Night Soccer

Brad was out of town so I took Colt to his soccer game, with all 4 kids. Fortunately Sean was with us and was very helpful. With about 15 minutes left we were caught in a downpour. We survived but it was definitely a little more hectic. I was able to get a few very bad pictures and some video.

Colt is in the very middle of this picture.  (told you it was bad)

One thing Colt is very good at is falling down.  He will fall down for just about anything but mostly to help him tackle.  It's very cute but I think we will have to work on this a little.

Brody's Bath Robe

We received a bath robe as a hand me down. Brody loves it and would wear it all day if he could.  He forgets about it when its tucked in his drawer, but he pulled it out the other day.  After I explained to him why he doesn't need it to wear it to bed he was quick to put it on in the morning.

I had to get a picture.

Then the others wanted a picture too.

To the park

These days are a little tricky for me. My preference would be to lay on the couch all day and let the kids watch movies.  (I'm trying to save that for after the arrival of the baby) But its also hard when the sun is shining because I want them to get outside.

We took a spontaneous trip to Robinswood Park and I let the kids play for a little bit.  It was a nice break in our day and it was good for me and the kids to get out.

Colt was very helpful with Darby making sure she didn't go down a ladder or slide she wasn't supposed to.

More with Sean

Brad was out of town for a cross country meet so I invited Sean to come over and spend the night. Mostly to help me out but also to play with the kids. They love him! I was able to get a few pictures of all of them together but of course its always a challenge getting them to all look at the camera and smile.

Sean's Football Game

We went to see Sean play football for the freshman Mt. Si team. They were playing Issaquah. I had to miss quite a bit of it because of curriculum night at Brody's school. Apparently the kids were more interested in running around, through and under the bleachers.

Sean's team didn't win but he had quite a fan crowd after the game.
Our family alone makes 6 people.

But Papa Bob, Grandma Shari and Uncle Jason were also there.
Along with Sean's other grandma and her friend.

The kids tried on Sean's football pads and thought it was the coolest thing.  Of course they think anything Sean does is cool.

I only managed a few pictures.

Flower Headband

Our neighbor left her headband outside for a little while. Darby tried it on and seemed to like it for a few minutes. I don't think she is quite ready to wear it all the time.

Purple Spiders

Colt is playing soccer once a week. It's a bit of a story, but basically we weren't signed up, then we were, then we were scolded, then we weren't and now he is back on his team. The Purple Spiders.  He is having a blast!  He scored one goal in the first game and two goals in the second.

I didn't get to take very good pictures so hopefully I will get more in the next few weeks.

Darby had fun too!
(Brody & Colt didn't join us.  They were at the neighbor's watching a movie)

Not quite a Pirate Party

My parents purchased a pirate party at an auction. It expired this year so they sent it to me. I found a date that worked and booked a time for a "pirate party." I invited Gunner, Sayler, Abi, Andrew, and our (2nd) cousins Ashton & Aiden.

The party was at Old McDebbie's Farm and Jim's U-Fish in Spanaway.  And let me tell you Spanaway is a LONG WAYS AWAY.

Once we made it there, the kids had fun.

But there was no pirate party.  There was a party room where they had dress up clothes to be a pirate but there were no swords, coins or other pirate treasures.

It worked out ok since it wasn't anyone's birthday party and it was much nicer to be outside.  We didn't even go into the party room.

Instead we roamed the farm and did a few fun things.

Checking out the animals.

Walking along the Eye Spy Trail

Pony Rides

They had two camels.  They wanted to lick everyone that came by.

The kids loved this little duck race.   One of the sides didn't work but they still had fun playing in the water and watching the ducks go down.

It was a LONG trip and we were mostly bummed that Papa Bob & Grandma Shari couldn't join us, but the kids still had a fun time.

First Day of Preschool

Colt & Ollie had their first day of preschool at Joyful Heart. Since it is a multi-age class they are in school together. I know its going to be a great year for them and we are so thankful they get to be there. I have to admit I'm a little anxious to see if any fighting happens between the two of them. They play really well together which also means they can have their disagreements.

Colt is the 2nd oldest in his class.  I'm looking forward to seeing how he becomes a leader to his classmates.
