Safety Glasses

We have a lot of safety glasses left over from Brody's nerf gun party. Darby likes to put them on sometimes and pretend she is wearing normal glasses. 

Run to Win Auction

We were invited by our friends Dan & Jen to join their table at the Run to Win Auction. Run to Win is a great organization that organizes sports camps for kids while sharing the gospel of Jesus. Our church has been sponsoring this camp for the past 3 summers and our kids were able to participate last year. 

It was a fun night out even though Brad came late due to a track meet. 

We had all these people from our church at two of the tables.  What a great representation!

 

Wall Sits

This is my 5th summer organizing a boot camp for our neighborhood. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6:00. It has been so much fun and this year we have already hit our biggest numbers with 11 ladies.   We were finally able to get a picture of us doing a wall sit. (My friend Jen is missing.  She is my biggest supporter and helps out if I am out of town).  

We have so much fun especially on those sunny mornings.  There is no better way to start our day. 

 

Camo Shirt

We have been given some more clothes from various friends. Darby picked out this camo shirt and as always she looks adorable.

3rd Grade Concert

Brody had his 3rd grade concert. They sang a lot of patriotic songs.

Brody tried out for a solo but didn't get it.  Instead he was able to have a speaking role.  

I think he nailed it! 

I really was so proud watching him. He was not only focused (and not distracted) but he sang with expression and emotion.  After the concert I told him I liked all the expression he used and he said he didn't feel like he did a good job with that.   I just love this kid! 

Action Shots

One of the parents on Brody's soccer team has been taking lots of pictures of the kids. He sorted them and then put them on a disk to give to each of the kids. I thought it would just be all the pictures he took but they were pictures of Brody only. I was so surprised. It was such a nice and thoughtful thing to do. Here are a few of the ones he took.

Church Twins

A few weeks ago Ollie showed up to church in similar colors to his friend Lachlan. His mom was very excited about their matching outfits so we took a picture.

Lamb Day

Our friend Jeannine hosted Lamb Day at her mom's house. This is one of our favorite annual traditions and I'm so thankful it worked with our schedule.   

The kids were a little timid around the sheep but after only a few minutes they got in on the action.  Bo was the most excited to watch them and couldn't wait to actually pet a lamb.  

After the time with the lambs we went back into the house and spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out.  I looked at the clock around 2:30 and wondered if we really had to leave.  My kids were completely entertained (not by me) and there was plenty of food for dinner.  The idea of going home to responsibilities wasn't very appealing.  We finally did leave around 3:00 but we had such a great day and are all ready looking forward to next year. 

Fire Bombs

I signed Ollie up at the last minute to play spring soccer. I mostly did it because he had 4 of his classmates on the team so I figured I could always get someone to help me out if needed. And sure enough he has gotten a ride to most of his games. 

He has had fun with his friends and we enjoy watching him. 

He doesn't score very many goals.  But somehow I managed to get a video of him getting an assist and a goal.  Enjoy! 

Coding Class

Brody is taking a computer coding class through a company called Tech Smart Kids.  I was a little nervous that he might not like it mostly because it was an investment of time and money.   Thankfully he LOVES the class and looks forward to it every week.  Here he is in action.

Ollie came home with his persuasive writing. Yes, he is only in Kindergarten. I can't believe some of the stuff they are having these kids do (I don't necessarily know if I agree with all the academics but it is impressive to see what he has done).

All tell him to go to bed wenn you tell him to. 

You Dont Have to worey He can sleep in my bed.

He will take a nap in the mittel of the day.

Oh dont worey I will pay for his food and feed him.

The kid has some good arguments....but he still hasn't persuaded me.  

Water Waster

Colt had his first grade concert. The theme was "Big Beautiful Planet" and if that sounds familiar its because Brody had this same concert when he was in 1st grade.  So, lucky us we got to hear the songs again this year, not only at school but at home too.  

I had some help with the videos so some of them are a little shaky and out of focus but hopefully you get the idea. 

We were very surprised when Colt told us he had a speaking part.  It made us very proud to know that he was confident enough to want to do this.   We aren't quite sure of the selection process but we do know that they can turn it down if they don't want to speak.  I think there were a total of 4 kids from his class (16 for all the 1st grades). 

What do you do with a water waster? This is Brad's favorite song.  It is not surprising because it does have a catchy little tune. 

Mother's Day Tea

I was invited to Ollie's Mother's Day Tea.

 He was so excited to have me come to his classroom.
