Christmas Eve Service

We went to the Christmas Eve service for the first time since 2019. It wasn't easy finding Christmas outfits that fit so we were definitely looking festive. It was at a different church so it had a different feeling but we still enjoyed being able to go.

We sat with our friend's family so it was nice to be with someone we knew. 

 

Freezing Rain

We had some freezing rain at our house last week which made for a sheet of ice on our roads. The kids had fun exploring and experimenting with it. They did say it wasn't as icy as they thought it would be.

 

Pajama Day

Darby & Bo had Pajama Day at school. I snapped these pictures before they got on the bus.

 

Hoops

We rented a court at the Issaquah Community Center and invited the Hodo family for a game of basketball.  We did this last year and had a lot of fun so wanted to do it again. 

It didn't disappoint and was another fun and even game of basketball.

Brody, Trey, Devin, Me, Kylie

Trey won the game with a 3 pointer. 

We even had a scoreboard this year.  

Basketball Christmas Party

 Darby's basketball team had a secret santa gift exchange.  They met at the frozen yogurt shop to open their gifts. 

A little basketball

We had a few basketball games last weekend. Darby played in a tournament and her team was a bit outmatched....they probably should have been in a different division. But it was still a great learning experience. 

Bo's team had a great game and won their game. 

 

Tree hunting

We went to get our tree the other day.  I was hoping they would give us the December 14th discount but they didn't.   Ollie wasn't feeling well so he missed out but we were able to drag the rest of the kids with us.  It was REALLY cold and it took us a little while to find one but we finally did. 

Seahawks Buddy

Ollie was invited to go to a Seahawks game with his friend Cody.  They were able to get on field passes for pregame activities. 

Ollie had a super fun time! 

End of Season

 Ollie had his last soccer game of the season.  They won 7 - 1 and Ollie scored a goal.  The coaches did a fantastic job teaching them how to play good soccer and it was so fun to watch them. 

Ball Girl

Darby and one of her teammates were the ball girls for the high school team.  She always has fun being involved in these kinds of events. 

 

Fro-Yo Again

Ollie convinced us that everyone was going to frozen yogurt after the band concert. I left the decision up to Brad and we went. No one else got the memo.....so it was just us. But still a fun reason to celebrate. (Brody & Colt were both at soccer practice).

Winter Band Concert

After Darby's winter concert we quickly drove over to Ollie's band concert. We actually had special permission to leave Darby's concert without stacking the chairs. Thankfully we got there just in time because it started at exactly 7:15 and Ollie's portion wasn't very long. We enjoyed watching Ollie play. And my goodness do we love these two all dressed up.

 

Sunset Singers Winter Concert

Darby had her first concert for Sunset Singers. They sang at the Veteran's Day Assembly but this was the first actual concert.  She was a little nervous but did a fabulous job.  

Brad, Bo & I went because the other boys had their own activities. 

 

Frozen Field

Brody was one of the only games that didn't get canceled because of the snow.  I'm not sure it was the best decision because one of the penalty areas was completely covered in snow and half the field was still frozen.  

But they finished the game in a tie and didn't have to reschedule the game.  

 

Gingerbread Houses

Darby, Bo & I went to the Mitchell's house to decorate gingerbread houses. In the past we have decorated cookies but this year we decided to do gingerbread houses instead.

Tyler & Ollie decided to start making their own houses at home. 

 

First Snow!

We got a little bit of snow last week. It was actually just a dusting and definitely not enough to play in. Just up the hill from us they had a lot more so it ended up with two days of 2 hour delays and one day of no school.

 

U-S-A!

We loved cheering on the USA in the Men's World Cup. So we were a little sad when they were eliminated from the tournament. It does make us excited for the next one which will be in the United States with some games in Seattle. So fun!
