Scary Monster Tree

I forgot to include these videos in our camping pictures. This is Ollie being a scary Monster tree. He was really getting into it.

Wrestling

I love having boys and have always felt I am best suited to be the mother of boys. (Now that I have Darby I believe I am going to learn many new things about myself as a mother). But one of the things I have learned/or I am still learning is how to deal with the desire boys have to fight/wrestle or whatever you call it.

The other day the boys were outside and wanted to start wrestling. My instinct is to tell them to stop but I know it is something they need. We set a few guidelines and the boys did a great job respecting them. I think they really enjoyed their "wrestling" time.

Really?! 6 Months!

Here we are half a year old. I am so blessed to have this little GIRL. She is such a joy and absolutely adorable. At her 6 month checkup it was confirmed that she is a little peanut.

Weight: 12lbs.  3.5 oz. (yep... a little peanut)  3%
Height:  25.5 inches   50%
Head:  17 inches  55%

She is rolling over, reaching for things, putting stuff in her mouth, laughing at her brothers, and eating "solids".  She is starting to prefer mom, but still loves to snuggle with daddy.

I took some of the standard 6 month pictures. I didn't really like the first photo shoot so a few days later I took some more. I decided to post both of them because they are still so cute.

Sleeping

Darby looked so precious while she was sleeping. She usually sleeps on her tummy so I was surprised to find her like this. Then I decided to take a picture of the boys.

(Unfortunately this picture ended up upside down and I don't know how to fix it)

More Camping Pictures

The one drawback to camping is Ollie misses out on his naps so he is very, very tired by dinner time. We had some s'mores and he fell asleep in the chair right in the middle of eating his.  Poor little guy!

We love how he has one sock and shoe off.

Another perk to camping...the guys do the dishes (most of the time).

The kids climbed on this log, then jumped off.  They spent a lot of time doing this.

And did tricks on other trees.

We hiked up to Franklin Falls.  On our hike Brody found this...it's his IPAD.

We also found a stump the kids could climb into.

Ollie decided to do some exercises on this rock.  Yes, random!

How cute is Annika?
So glad she was able to go camping with us.

This is Franklin Falls.

We are all packed up and just hanging out until someone decides it is time to go.  We never like it when camping trips end (mostly because it means LOTS of laundry at home)

Breakfast time!

September Camping

Brad and I have been talking about going on one more camping trip before the weather really starts to turn.  I didn't think it would really happen but it did.  This last weekend we went up to Denny Creek (it's only a 30 minute drive from our house).    One of Brad's friends and his family joined us on Friday and then the Welkes came up on Saturday.  It was a great relaxing weekend and I know the boys had a ton of fun.

One of the reasons I like camping is Brad enjoys cooking up breakfast and dinner.   It takes the pressure off me to do it.

The Kronstad's brought a bunch of super soakers, but it was too cold to use them with water.

The kids
Ollie, Finn, Colt, Ryker, Brody, Jens & Annika
(missing Darby & Aksel)

Ollie found lots of sticks.

And they did lots of log walking.

And of course some silly trees...or in this case....
A silly Forest

We also had a monster forest!

Saturday ended up being much colder than I thought it would be.  I spent most of the time by the fire so I was very happy that the boys were easily entertained.   They didn't need me very often.
