My neighbor gave me some of her dress up clothes to pass along to Darby & Bo.  Ollie loved them too.

Adventure Park

I had heard about this great park on Mercer Island called Adventure Park. It's only open during the summer on specific days and during specific hours. It is basically in the woods and kids check out a tool box. Once inside the kids have free reign to build whatever they want.  

I invited my friend Jen and her family to join us and I'm so glad I did.  Bathroom breaks would have been hard to manage because an adult needs to be with the kids that are building things.   

It was so fun watching these kids in action as they worked out a plan and tried to figure out how to build their fort.  Unfortunately we ran out of time and never finished but I think they all had a lot of fun.   Zephyr and the boys want to do something like this at Papa Bob's property so they are going to start working on a plan.  

Hiking

When Brad was hiking Mt. Baker I decided to take the kids hiking, by myself.  I was a little nervous because I didn't have anyone to help if there was any sort of emergency.  We didn't go too far from the car and I knew the trial well enough.  

We had a blast!  The kids were great and only turned because I made them.   It was so much fun watching them run through the trails and explore.  Bo slowed us down a little bit but we were in no hurry.   Plus Brody was a great helper. 

Summer Hair cuts

Colt was asking for a hair cut and when he asks for a hair cut its kind of a big deal so I took him in. Then Ollie & Brody decided they wanted their hair cut too.

I think they all look adorable but one of these kids is now wearing a hat everywhere. 

Eat Mor Chik'n

The day after Free Slurpee Day we heard it was Cow appreciation day at Chik-fil-a and we like free.  Zephyr was still with us so he joined us too.  It was deja-vu because he was at the same event with us last year. 

Bo didn't want a picture with the cow and Darby was a little hesitant which is why she is standing a little bit away from him. 

 

They had a picture booth so we took some fun family pictures. 

Free Slurpee Day

We cashed in on Free Slurpee Day.  We always like free but I was surprised that the kids didn't drink all of it because they didn't really like them. 

Zephyr was able to join us too. 

Training Hike

Colt went on a training hike with Brad and Mr. Dan. This was the picture at the top. It was a touhg, steep hike and Colt was a superstar!

Mt. Baker

Brad made another attempt at climbing Mt. Baker.  He was supposed to climb with his friend Dan but he ended up getting injured.  

He went up with Arnie (the leader) and a group of people he didn't know very well.  They had an enjoyable time but didn't even leave base camp because a rainstorm came rolling in.  They knew rain was in the forecast but thought it would be at least 12 hours later.  

Naturally Brad would rather have made it to the top but he still had a great time.  And maybe next year I can go with him. 

Target

Before we went to Moclips we had to run a few errands and we did it as a family. We even stopped by Target. Thankfully we didn't stay too long and the kids didn't beg for too many things.

Sometimes we have nerf gun battles here. 

Bo & Darby are always ready to get in on the action.

Paddle Boats & Planks

The kids LOVED the paddle boats.

My friend had a summer goal of doing a plank on a stand up paddle board.  After a fun morning cruising the lake on the paddle boards we tried out our planks.  We were pleasantly surprised that they weren't too hard.
