Slugfest

Bo’s baseball team played in the Issaquah Slugfest.  Since it was our club hosting Brad had to help get the fields ready and also managed the games at the fields.  He was there all day Saturday and Sunday. 

 

Bo's team played really well and ended up winning the championship.  

 

Gloves

Brad took Colt, Darby & Bo to a baseball store to look at some new gloves and bats.   The owner is great and even helped start the process of getting the gloves worn in. 

Coach challenge

Brad helped with Darby's softball practice and the girls had to do this challenge where they had to stand up without their hands touching the ground.   It took them a really long time to do it but Brad and the other coach were able to do it on the first try.  They were proud of themselves....and possibly a little sore after.  :)

Last day

Look at these sweet kids on their last day of the 2021-22 school year.  Bittersweet, as always. 

Happy summer!

I watched the end of school assembly on Zoom.  The video wasn't the best but it was fun to get a glimpse of Bo & Darby and all the other sweet kids I got to know this year. 

Softball championship

Darby's softball team made it to the championship game.  (I was gone at my relay)  Brad was asked to be the announcer and Colt kept track of the scoreboard.  

It was a close game but Darby's team ended up losing by 1.  

Kid sale

Someone in our neighborhood organized a kids sale.   I mentioned it to the kids but didn't want to put too much effort into organizing it but it didn't matter because they got to work finding things in our house to sell.  It was a good way to declutter and help them think about the things they still use and play with.    Always a good learning experience when money is involved.  

Unfortunately, they didn't sell much and now they really don't want to part with these items. 

Cable line

Another hike to train for Mt. Adams.  This one was with Brad, Colt & Mr. Dan. 

Fishing weekend

Brad went on his fishing weekend with his friends.   He came back with two trophies and had a great time.  

Fort time

Brad went on a fishing trip so we made a fort in the living room.  And of course watched TV and played some video games.

Special Letter

Bo got mail!   He received a special letter in the mail from his teacher.  He was so excited!  

Relay time

It was time for another relay.  I was able to participate in a relay race again.  This is the same one I have been doing for a few years.  Two of our runners couldn't participate so we had two new runners join us, one of which was my good friend and running buddy, Jen.  It was fun to have her along so she could experience a relay race too.  

It was a bit of a drizzly day but was actually quite warm.  Other than the downpour for our last two runners it was perfect running weather.   

My first leg was a little over 7 miles with lots of hills and turns but it wasn't too bad.  I finished feeling pretty good about that leg.  I had about 6 hours before my 2nd leg.   

My second leg was just over 7 miles and a little bit shorter than the first.  It wasn't as hilly but after 2 miles I felt the lack of training for a 14 mile day.  I had to use a LOT of mental energy to get through the distance.   The one upside is I was the first runner so I was done before everyone else and I was able to sit back and relax as the rest of them finished. 

And of course after we were done we went back for tacos and margaritas. 

It was a nice weekend away and I'm thankful I get to have these little adventures.

Spring concert

Ollie had his spring band concert.  He is in the back right in this picture.  We love watching him play and also love watching him excited about his band experience. 

He also likes the fro-yo trip after concerts. It's easy to talk me into it when a friend invites us.  

Track finals

Ollie had his track finals a few weeks ago.  He qualified in the mile and ended up placing 5th out of the 5 middle school teams.  We are so proud of him and how hard he works.  Look at him flying off the track! 

Our neighbor (and friend) came to cheer him on. 

Family Pickleball

We went to the park to play some pickleball.  It's always fun when Brad joins in too.
