White Christmas!

Here in the Northwest we have heard the song "I'm dreaming of a White Christmas" many times. But we also know that the reality of this coming true is VERY, VERY slim. In fact we just hope to get at least one snow day a year.

Well, this year our dreams came true when the snow started falling on Christmas Eve, combine it with a Seahawks victory and family over....it made for a perfect Christmas.

When we woke up...and while we were waiting for others to wake up we ventured out into the snow.

Christmas Eve

We had Brad's extended family over on Christmas Eve for a Barquist Family Christmas.

The kids were worried they wouldn't have any presents.

All the kids.

Christmas Eve Service

Since Christmas was on a Monday our church decided to have an early Christmas Eve service as well as one at 3:30. We went to the 11:00 service. It's always a little hectic having all the kids in the service but its also very nice and the best reminder about this season.

And honestly, during this part I'm praying no one gets lit on fire.  :)

We failed to get a family picture at church but we did get this one with me and Darby.

Winter Baseball

Colt is playing baseball with the Issaquah Baseball Club. They practice once a week and then they will go to a few tournaments next year. Brad went to drop him off at practice but ended up staying the whole time.

Barquist Family Christmas

Brian and Angie hosted Christmas for the Barquist family.

We went up there after Brody's basketball game.

As always, we had a fun time and it was hard to get the kids to leave.

Christmas Shopping

Brad went shopping to pick up a few Christmas presents. You would think after being married this long that I would know....but it always surprises me how long it takes and all the treasures he comes home with.   Maybe its because the thought of spending more than half an hour shopping sounds miserable.

Darby went with him and they stopped at Home depot to get some more Christmas lights.

Live Nativity

I think my favorite Christmas event/tradition is the live Nativity hosted by Calvary Chapel Bellevue. It is right up the hill from us so it doesn't take too long. Last year we had to wait in line for a long time but this year it went very quickly.

In the midst of the decorations, lights, parties and everything Christmas this is such a great reminder of what this season is about.  The actors/actresses that put this thing on are fabulous!

We are so glad we were able to drive through this again.

Western Conference Champions

Brad and I went to the Western Conference Championship. The Sounders played an awesome game and beat the Houston Dynamo 3 - 0. It was so fun to watch. Unfortunately, they did not bring their awesome play with them to the MLS championship game and got crushed by Toronto.

I'm still a Sounders fan!
