Overheating

Our mini van was in the shop so I had to drive Brad's jeep. I was just going to stay at home but then we had to take something to Brad and then I tried to get my phone screen fixed. On the way back from Issaquah I was exiting the freeway when the jeep started to overheat.

Thankfully I was able to pull off to the side and we patiently waited for Brad to come rescue us.

Catan

A few weeks ago we pulled out Catan. We had a fun time playing and hope to be playing more board games in this colder, darker months.

It's still a challenge keeping the younger ones happy and entertained....especially when it starts to get late.

Another trotter!

I just found this on my phone.  She was a little cold and wet and sometimes just wanted to sit in the stroller. But if she saw a friend she jumped out and started to run.

I love this girl!

Turkey Trottin!

We signed up for the Issaquah Turkey Trot again.  When we woke up it was raining and there was no sign of it letting up.   And as good parents do we stuck to our commitment and got the kids out there.   There was little, if any, complaining.  They were all troopers and superstars.

Brody, Colt and Brad ran the whole way stopping only at the punch card stations.

Ollie ran about 2 1/2 miles, Darby ran 1 1/2 miles and Bo ran a little.

It was crazy, crowded, wet, cold and a whole lot of fun.  My favorite part was seeing friends and neighbors that we knew.  It was a great reminder of the awesome place we live in.   It also made me thankful for my kids and our health.

Sounders Playoff Game

Brad and I were lucky enough to go to the Sounders playoff game. (This means we had the tickets, no other conflicts and were able to find a babysitter).

They won 2 - 1.  While this is a good result it is not over.  They now play on Sunday in Colorado and the best score of the two games will advance to the finals.  So hopefully we will be back at Century Link field in two weeks.

Another Present!

Bo got a birthday present from Uncle Brian & Aunt Angie. He was so excited! I forgot to take a picture but it was a little dog. (one of his top requests)

He also got a Target Gift Card so he can buy more dogs.

Little Gym Birthday Party

Darby was invited to our neighbor's birthday party. Bo tagged along. He was a little hesitant at first but then jumped right in on the action.

It's hard to see but Bo is in the middle with the striped shirt.

Even harder to see, Darby is on the right and Bo is that blur in the middle.

Layers

Darby was overdue for a haircut. I made appointments but kept needing to cancel them since we have had sickness in this house. Thankfully we finally got her in.

The stylist asked if I wanted to give her layers and as I typically answer I said "what do you think?"  The stylist thought layers would be good.

So here she is with layers.
It's adorable! But I have to admit it makes her look so grown up.

And today as I was brushing her hair I noticed the same wave in the back of her hair that I deal with every day.  A simple reminder that she is my girl.  I just love her to pieces!

Veteran's Day Assembly

Our school had a Veteran's Day Assembly just like they do every year. This was the first year I was able to go.  Brody sang a few songs as part of the school singing group, Sunset Singers.

Then each grade level sang different songs.   Ollie was excited to sing A-M-E-R-I-C-A and the Marine song.  It was hard for him to sing since his smile was so big.

I love being able to see my kids in their school world.

Great White Sharks

Another fun season of soccer for Ollie.  I'm thankful he is on a team with a great coach and lots of friends.  At this age you can't really ask for much more.

Veteran's Day Hike

The kids didn't have school on Veteran's Day and since the weather report showed no rain I decided to take them for a hike. Thankfully my friend Rachael, her baby and her daughter joined us. We had such a great time hiking on Cougar Mountain.

Dodge Ball

We love it when our friends invite us to play at their church. Especially when its a cold, windy, rainy day. This time we had some great rounds of dodge ball.

We are glad he has lots of friends to keep him happy at night.

Bo bike riding

This picture is from a month ago when Bo was too pleased riding his bike (with training wheels).

Thank you Coach!

I signed Colt up for soccer and checked the box that said I would be an assistant coach. I should have known this meant I would have been talked into being the head coach. It has been a fun season coaching Colt and meeting some new friends. We had our last game this weekend (which I actually ended up missing).

The players and parents gave me a gift card and a handwritten card to thank me.

These thoughtful things are always appreciated.

Peppa!

Bo is obsessed with watching Peppa on the ipad. I gave it to him the other day when he wasn't feeling so well. He fell asleep watching it. (and yes we need a new, clean cover)

State Cross Country

Yesterday Brad's cross country team competed at State.

This is the best his team has ever done.

His girl got 3rd place and his boy's team placed 2nd.
A job well done by all the runners and the coaches.  (especially Brad)

Spooky Spaghetti

Spooky Spaghetti night is an annual event put on by the school PTA. This is the 2nd year we have gone and the 1st time Brad stepped up to be one of the dad volunteers. (They have a TON of dads who do this).

As a rookie Brad is called Tony.  There are lots of "Tony's" helping out.  Next year his name will change to Vinny.

All the Tony's get a costume and Brad was bacon.

I think he liked it.

He also was in charge of a game and apparently it was the most enthusiastic, fun game of the night.

Colt, Ollie, Emmi and Bella

Oh the kids were there too.
At least Colt, Ollie & Darby.

Class Parties

I was able to go to Ollie & Colt's class parties. It is always fun to be in there and see what they have going on and of course meet their friends too.

I didn't go to Brody's class party because it was later in the day.  It was a good thing I didn't commit to that because Brody ended up coming up early with a Migraine.  A first for all of us.
