Rattlesnake Ledge

Jen and I went on a hike to Rattlesnake Ledge. It was early enough to catch some of the sunrise but we didn't make it up before the sun came up.

 

Home Opener

 It was a few weeks ago but Brad and I had the chance to go to the Seahawks Home Opener.  It was fun but a win would have made it much better.  

Soccer Trip

Bo had a soccer game in Chimacum. We took the Kingston/Edmonds Ferry and made it in time for warm ups. Unfortunately their team was outmatched and they lost by quite a lot.

 

Leopard Gecko

 Darby has been asking for a Leopard Gecko and Brad finally took her to the pet store to get one.   He didn't realize it requires lots of live crickets to feed it.   This wasn't my idea. 

 

Still no name for the gecko.   

Birthday Party

We were invited to Emerson's first birthday party but Bo was the only kid who didn't have a commitment to something else. So we drove down there to hang out with Emerson, Eva and Ellis and of course everyone else at the party.

 

Back to School Hike

 I joined my two ski friends for a hike after school started.   It was fun to get out and catch up with them even though the view wasn't great due to the smoke.    

Ranger Station

We went down to the Ranger Station for the Smith Family Reunion in Central Oregon. We left early Friday morning and it was a long drive but we finally made it. 

 

 

We played lots of washoes and hung out with family.  It's fun to have little kids around to keep us entertained.   

 

First Day of school

Summer flew by and we are back in the grind of school. The kids went to school the first day but then we left for Oregon for their second day of school. Colt was actually sick the first day so he missed his first two days of school. 

 

Other than that we are off to a good start and all the kids are gone by 7:30.   So weird.   

 

Last summer swim

We squeezed in one more summer swim. Bo was waiting for his friend to come. He finally did.

 

Summer Sushi

 We had a rare night where everyone was gone but me and Bo.   I didn't have dinner made yet so we defaulted to buying some sushi since that is Bo's favorite.  

WEB Day

Bo had 6th grade orientation for middle school. Darby signed up to be a WEB leader and got to be Bo's leader. It's so fun to think these two are back in school together.

 

Sourdough Gap

The Hodo's only stayed for one night but we definitely wanted to stay two and I'm so glad we did. It was different without them but I also just love being in the mountains. Colt suggested that we hike up to Sourdough Gap. It was about a 1.5 mile hike up. Brad and I weren't super excited about it mostly because it was HOT! 

 

But we were so glad we did.  It was a fun adventure and great to explore a little bit more of where we camped.

We stopped in Enumclaw for lunch. 

We met up with the Hodo's on Sunday night so we could wrap up our trip with all our highlights and things we would change for next year.
