Post Track Treat

Brad told Colt "after the next track practice we will stop at the donut store to get a treat." Of course, Colt did not forget this and considered the track meet a practice.  We took the whole crew for a donut treat.  Darby loves her donut!

The boys do too!

A little video of Darby signing "more".  I tried to get her to sign "please" but I think she was too distracted by the sticky mess on her fingers.
Have I mentioned how cute she is?

50 M Relay & Fans

One of Brody's classmates was looking for a partner to do the 50 M Relay. They only have two people for this race but its a great introduction to an actual relay.  Colt decided he would race with Lauren.  I didn't get a picture of the two of them since I was up in the stands.

Ollie did a great job cheering.

Darby did a great job eating.

The race.  Lauren and Colt are in Lane 1.   They got a third place ribbon for this race.

Long Jump & 25 M

We signed Brody up for summer track. At the first day of practice we learned that 4 year olds could participate too. We asked Colt if he wanted to join and he said yes.

Brody wasn't interested in it.  We gave him 2 days to try it and then asked to transfer Brody's registration to Colt's.   It has been so fun for Colt.  I think the best part is the one on one time he gets to spend with Brad.

He had his 2nd track meet yesterday.  (I didn't take pictures at the first one because it was pouring down rain and became too much to manage).

This track meet was at Issaquah High School and it was warm and dry.

His first race was the 25 m.  If you are thinking thats really short, you are right.

His 4th place ribbon.

His favorite event is the long jump.  We are quite proud because even though he is little and young he really knows what he is doing and does a great job.

Ollie wanted a turn and he got to jump too.

Colt ended up getting 2nd place out of 11 participants in the 4 - 6 age group.
We are so proud of him.

Lights On

Brad is the night owl so he usually checks on all the boys before he goes to bed. The other night he walked into Ollie & Darby's room and found the lights completely on with all these books, puzzles, toys and friends in Ollie's bed.

I guess he didn't go to sleep right away.  Thankfully Darby was able to sleep with all the action.

(yes, their room is always this messy.  And yes I am embarrassed by this).

Issaquah Brew House

Our good friends left last weekend. We scheduled one final get together.  Since the weather wasn't very good we had to meet inside at a restaurant.   We decided to go to the Issaquah Brew House.  I was a little nervous about managing the kids while we were eating but it ended up being one of the more relaxing meals I have enjoyed in a long time.   The secret:  A Lego table.  The kids were entertained the whole time.  (except Darby...but she doesn't count)

(we were missing Aksel.  He was at home with a babysitter and was already sleeping)

I decided to make sure we got a picture of the parents.

Darby did manage to dump out all of Annika's tic tacs.
Fortunately we got them before she ate them all.

Some of their lego creations.

We are still trying to adjust to the idea of our friends not being so close to us.  We know we will make many efforts to see them over the years, but it certainly is not the same as living in the same city.  Not only are they wonderful friends but they have been so helpful on so many different occasions.   We hope to see them again soon so we can make more wonderful memories with them.

Chalk Face

Darby found a bucket of chalk shavings. She managed to dump it on her face. We took a picture before we cleaned her up.

Lake Sammamish Canoeing

We went with the Welke's for a little canoeing adventure.  It was nice because we went about a mile down the street from us to gain entrance to Lake Sammamish.  The rain held off and we enjoyed a beautiful evening at the Lake.

Jumping into 1st Grade

Colt & Ollie wanted a picture with Brad

At school they had a slide show and then they had the opportunity to Jump into first grade.  I was unable to make it and fortunately another mom got these great pictures.

His teacher told the students they could give them a hug, handshake or high five.  I was so excited to see Brody giving her a hug.  It was a reminder of how sweet and little he still is.

You can tell he was very excited to jump into first grade.

Getting off the bus!

I'm not that emotional, but yes I was a little sad Brody will never be in Kindergarten again.  Brad reminded me that we have 4 more times to be in Kindergarten.  I can't argue with that but the time is quickly going by.

Father's Day - Part 2

After our great time on Bainbridge we traveled to Papa Bob & Grandma Shari's. Uncle Jason and Aunt Jessi made a yummy bbq lunch/dinner. It was so nice outside the kids loved playing.

And I neglected to take very many pictures.

Father's Day - Part 1

We went out to Bainbridge to spend time with Grammy & Fafa for Father's Day weekend. The weather was beautiful so we tried to spend as much time as possible outside.

I love this little white dress on Darby (compliments of the Barnetts in Michigan).   I can't wait for her to wear it again, but I just hope I can keep it clean.

Brad spent some time practicing the turbo jav with Colt.

A family picture.  Half of us are smiling...not too bad.

I think this is a silly face picture.
