XC fans

Ollie & Colt had their last middle school cross country meet of the season. I took Bo & Darby out of school early and Brody drove to the meet with Brad. It was a wet, windy and cold meet but that didn't stop Colt & Ollie from having their best races setting individual PRs. It was a joy to watch them (even though we only see the beginning and the end).

 

Hoco #2

Last weekend Brody went to his 2nd Homecoming at Skyline High School. He ended up being the only boy with a group of girls.  He was such a good sport and had a great time. 

He actually had a date so he had a corsage for her and he received a boutonniere.

Kraken-Opening Game

While I was helping Brody with Homecoming details, Brad took Colt, Ollie & Darby to the opening Kraken game.    We didn't win but the kids always have a fun time.

Homecoming

Brody went to homecoming with 4 of his friends. Bo and I took him to the Bellevue Downtown park to meet them.  All his friends were running late and it was getting dark so we didn't get a chance to take pictures with his friends.  But we did get a few pictures with Bo and me in them. 

Brad also took these pictures of Brody at home.  

After waiting for his friends for 15 minutes we walked over to the restaurant where they had reservations.  His friends finally joined him and Bo and I left.   

They ate dinner, went to the dance and then hung out at another friend's house for a little bit.   Brody's report the next day was that he had a really fun time. 

I'm so thankful he was able to have this fun experience but also another one of those moments where I feel like he is growing up way too fast. 

 

Shopping

Last week Brody told us he was going to Homecoming with a group of friends. We had 3 days to get an outfit together and thankfully Brad likes to shop and is good at this sort of thing. He took Darby & Brody to Nordstrom Rack. Darby had fun in the dressing room. Thankfully they got a good start on finding something for Brody.

Party Time

The weather was looking nice and we had a window in our weekend that didn't involved a kid's sporting event so we planned for Bo's birthday party. He had a lot of fun playing soccer, whiffle ball and capture the flag with his friends.  The best part is that they stayed outside the whole time.   

 

P.E. Substitute

I was able to be Darby's substitute P.E. teacher. I love it when I get to see them (even if they act like they aren't as thrilled as I am). They were playing a game called Knock down which involved throwing dodge balls at bowling pins.  It is fun to watch her play and participate in P. E. activities. 

Unfortunately, I only spent half the day in there because they needed me to sub in a 2nd grade class for the afternoon.  

 

Honey Mishap

We ended up with a slight problem in MARV. Somehow one of our honey containers was open and it tipped over.  The honey slowly oozed its way down the floor towards the drivers seat.  (It was on a slight tilt).  Brad cleaned it up and asked Darby to help.  She was super helpful and even stuck her head under this vent to see if any honey had leaked in there, which it did.   Thankfully it is all cleaned up and we will be a little more diligent about food storage, hopefully. 

 

Happy 9th Bo!

Last week we celebrated Bo's 9th birthday!  It started with donuts for breakfast, then some sushi at school for lunch.  He wanted sushi for dinner but our sushi restaurant was closed so we saved it for the next night and had spaghetti instead (his 2nd choice).
