But treats are fun to have during these crazy times.
Keeping up with the Barquist family....one day at a time.
But treats are fun to have during these crazy times.
Then Brad and I tried to crack the case of this Unsolved Case Files. It was a fun evening and I love this intentional time we get with each other.
Ollie and I have been playing a lot of track ball at lunch.
I make sure I stand in the sun, when there is sun.
For our 3rd date of January Date Nights I decided we should donate blood. I scheduled our appointments for Sunday morning.
Brad had no trouble with the actual giving of the blood. But they had trouble finding a vein in my arm. I think I was well hydrated but I don't think they took me seriously enough when I said that my veins were tricky. After they started collecting it they had to stop.
When Brad was done he got up and grabbed some crackers and V8 juice. After sitting down for a few minutes he wasn't feeling good. The short version of the story is I asked the front desk for help and then they sent 4 of the technicians to help Brad lay down on the floor before he fully passed out.
They were so great in helping him recover.
After all that we grabbed some breakfast and then went home. A very eventful morning date.
I went hiking (again). It's one of my favorite things to do right now since I never really have to rush to be back home. I went with Jen & Jenny. We missed an amazing sunrise by about 10 minutes. Thankfully we got to see it through the trees. Next time we will plan better.
For our 2nd date night of January Date Nights I saw that the weather was going to be nice on the weekend. A friend of mine had told me about the Rusty Putter, a putting course at Newcastle Golf Club. So, we made plans to go up there before the Seahawks game. The kids stayed home and played their video games and Brad and I were able to escape for a few years.
When we left our house we were in the fog, but the golf course was above it. The view was AMAZING! We had to wait a little bit because there was frost on the course.
Brad ended up crushing me on the front nine and the back nine. We are thankful for these little nuggets of time together especially during this weird time.
I went for a hike with my friend Jen. It was an easy hike so we did it a few times and got in a nice morning workout. I am trying to do a better job taking pictures of my adventures too.
Brad has taken Darby & Colt up to the mountain a few times. We are hoping to do a family ski day soon but for now these two get some extra practice.
Our first date night was a date at home. (These are my least favorite because I am ready to get out!) We fed the kids dinner then told them we were having a date. We picked up some sushi and then Brad taught me how to play cribbage. It didn't take me too long to learn but I still need lots of practice.
After we put the kids to bed we watched The Peanut Butter Falcon. It was a very sweet movie and we were both glad it wasn't a tear jerker.
The kids got CLUE for Christmas from Fafa & Grammy. They were excited to play it and it was fun to introduce them to all the characters, rooms and weapons.
