Salmon Hatchery

I took Bo to the Salmon Hatchery the other day. We also invited our friends and they joined us. The boys were both fascinated by all the salmon they saw swimming. I was too. It's so cool!

Just taking a drink

Ollie wanted to send a picture to one of the campers from cross country camp.  This was his pose.  You know, just drinking some lemonade and wanting to say hi.

Dairy Queen Treat

The other day we had a rare evening where Brad, Colt & Ollie were gone.  Not only were they gone but they were off doing some really cool things.  So I took Brody, Darby & Bo to Dairy Queen.  They invited our neighbor (and friend) Finn to come too.

Trick Scooter

Our neighbor got a trick scooter, so Colt wanted to buy one too. He looked up some on Amazon and decided on this one. He used up a few gift cards and some of his money to buy it. About an hour after he purchased it he started having second thoughts, especially since it wasn't the exact same as our neighbors. We had read all the reviews and this one had good ones. Plus, it already has his name on the scooter. How could he go wrong?

Seahawks vs. Broncos

My sister wanted me to send some pictures of us in our Seahawks gear. We had one Broncos fan and he converted another one....just for the day. And bummer the Seahawks lost. It's not looking too bright for our season.

Galaxy Donuts

We had 4 soccer games last week and when we went to Colt's game at Bellevue High School there was a food truck with donuts. How could we resist getting this treat?

They definitely weren't the cheapest donuts around but it was still fun!

Craft Time

Darby loves it when her friends come over, especially Aspen.  They had some good girl craft time.

I love it when Brad gets a picture of our sleeping kids.

Bo is a mouth sleeper.

Lunch Date

If you have been reading our blog or follow me on social media (Facebook and Instagram) then you are familiar with our January Date Nights. I have been doing a little more with it and one of the suggestions I had was to go on a back to school date. I figured since I was promoting it I should probably do it too. So I arranged for our neighbor to watch Bo for a few hours and I met Brad for lunch.  I ran a few errand with him (Home Depot and Organized Spaces) and then we went to Spud Fish & Chips for lunch.

It's always great to have some time to ourselves even if we are trying to get some business done. At least we got caught up on random family plans (soccer games etc).

And if you are curious, you can check out the website www.januarydatenights.com or find us on Facebook or Instagram.

Back to School

This post is about a week and a half late. The kids started school the Wednesday after labor day. They all have awesome teachers and Brody has 7 different teachers. We are excited for the school year and we know its going to be an awesome one!

Ollie - 3rd Grade  Ms. Keen

He was SO excited to get her for a teacher.

Darby - 1st Grade   Ms. Nelson
She is a legend at the school and has never had a Barquist in her class so we are excited to experience all that we have heard about.

Brody is in middle school (6th grade) and likes all his teachers.

Colt - 4th Grade
Ms. Sampsel
We don't know much about her but so far she seems great!

Bo is staying home with me for Mommy preschool.

Part of it is because I am cheap and part of it is because I am Lazy.   After our crazy mornings the last thing I want is the pressure to go somewhere else.   We enjoy coming back home after the bus stop, cleaning up breakfast and working on our letters and numbers and hopefully some fun adventures.
Plus, running an errand with one kid is SO easy.

Shenanigans at the bus stop.

Ranger Station Fun

Our family has so much fun at the Ranger Station. The only down side is the extremely LONG car ride on the way home. We even left early this year to make it home in time for a fantasy football draft and it still seemed REALLY long.

We played some cornhole.

The kids played with "cousins".
This is Wyatt.

Rob was one of the kid's favorites.  He hasn't been here in about 5 years so it was fun to see him all grown up now.

Mark brought the zipline and of course this kept the kids entertained.

There is always some yummy food, treats, and appetizers.

Labor day would not be complete without a trip to the helicopter pad.

All the kids.

Everyone.
