Ultrasound #5

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday (although I'm a little over 21 weeks). Everything looks great and we are so thankful.   I just love seeing all the images of the bones, watching the heart beat and seeing the movements.  What another wonderful miracle!

It was a little sad since this will be our last baby, so this is the first of many last things.
The last 20 week ultrasound.
I savored the moment.

Pruning

Our neighbor Heather was pruning the tree in between our driveway and hers. As usual, the boys were so anxious to help out. She was so nice and let them help (I'm sure it took much longer than she anticipated).

Ollie, Sayler, Mickey & Minnie

My sister came over for a few hours. As they were leaving Ollie & Sayler decided to take a few minutes on the front porch to just hang out, with Mickey & Minnie too. They are just so adorable together so I took a quick picture.

And since I mentioned her, it's Aunt Jessi's birthday today.  Happy Birthday Aunt Jessi!  Hope its a fabulous one.  Enjoy your multiple Starbucks!

Swamp Monster Trail

Last weekend I took the kids on another hike. This time we were able to go with Lori, Annika & Ryker. It was so helpful to have them with us. The kids had a blast and I had an extra set of hands to carry Ollie when he got tired.

We decided to go to the Swamp Monster Trail at Tiger Mountain. We parked in the lower parking lot and hiked to the main parking lot. From there we joined the trail and hiked .3 miles. We thought this sounded really short, but it seemed so much longer. From the time we left the car to the time we got back it was almost 2 1/2 hours. Much longer than I would have thought. We did stop for a few breaks but not a lot.  The kids did a great job!

This is my favorite.  Annika is such a great helper!

Car Garage

The boys wanted to build a BIG car garage out of their blocks. Brad was able to help them out. They thought it was the coolest thing.

When it was finished they put as many cars as they could into the car garage.

Colt's Self Portrait

Someone got a hold of my camera and decided to take a few pictures.
I guess he knows how it works.

Denny's Pet World

Colt's preschool had another field trip. This time to Denny's Pet World near the Totem Lake Mall.  (I was a little unsure about this place because anything near Totem Lake Mall isn't much of anything)  But this place was perfect for a preschool field trip.

They checked out all the fish.

And of course wanted to get some.

The met Tiki, the store bird.

Darby enjoyed it too.

Then they sat down and got a chance to look at and even pet some of the animals.

Colt petting a Tortoise (this was easy for him since we have one at home)

Ollie was right in the middle of it, just like he was one of the preschool kids.

Not so sure about the snake.

Darby likes to walk everywhere and I let her walk down one of the aisles.  I went back to check on the boys so I could get a quick picture.  When I went back to the aisle I couldn't find her.  I was in a temporary panic until I found her under the shelves in the stack of dog food.

He didn't want to touch the meal worms.  Couldn't blame him.

It was a fun field trip for everyone!

Substitute Colt

I was asked to fill in as a substitute coach for Brody's soccer team. Normally I would jump all over this but since I have 3 other kids to manage I'm always a little hesitant.

Brad was at a track meet so I recruited the Welke's to watch Ollie & Darby so I could focus on coaching managing the kids. I also learned that there would be only 3 players available for the game so I asked if Colt could fill in as a substitute.

He was so thrilled to play. He did a great job. Since I had to coach I only managed to get this picture of him on the field.   His bright yellow shirt didn't match the team green but it worked.

We ended up winning 6 - 3.  Colt didn't score but made a pass to Brody who then scored.   I'm looking forward to watching more of these games in the years to come.

Train Field Trip

Colt's preschool had an awesome opportunity to go to the Hambling House. In their basement they have a complete train layout. It was unbelievable!

The kids seemed to enjoy it but I think the parents were more in awe of it, mostly because they knew how much time went into creating something like this.

The computers that operate the layouts.

There were 2 layers.  The top layer was the main layout and the bottom layer was the holding station for all of the trains not in use.

Brody & Colt using some of the gears.
(kids had to be 4 or older - or in the preschool class so I couldn't take Ollie)
