Jamba Juice

On a hot summer evening we went to Jamba Juice for dinner.  Because sometimes that just makes life easier.

Pokemon

The boys have been into trading Pokemon cards. It kind of comes and goes depending on what goes on during the bus ride. My biggest boy (yes, that's Brad) wanted in on the action so he went to the store and bought a binder, card sleeves and his own set of Pokemon cards. He was so excited when the first kid (I think it was Ollie) learned that he had Pokemon cards.

Midsummer Races

Our favorite part of Midsummer Festival are the races. There is a small part of us that are competitive and these races seem to favor our big family. We usually have at least one participant in each race since they are broken up into different age groups. 

Unfortunately, Colt had a major face plant in his race.  He was ready to take 2nd but ended up in last.  He was visibly upset but bounced back quickly so he could do the potato sack race.  He finished in 1st for the potato sack race.

Hay

I will fully admit to having just as much fun, if not more fun than the kids. Something about digging through hay to look for candy and money brings me instantly back to my childhood.  I have to restrain myself a little to not get too crazy. 

The kids had fun and thankfully it wasn't very crowded this year. 

Midsummer Festival

We went to the Swedish Midsummer Festival. It kind of snuck up on me this year. Thankfully we were able to go.  The weather ended up being very pleasant.  Not too hot and not raining.  

We started with the dancing at the May Pole.

Pics from school

The principal at the kids school sent me these pictures of Colt. One of his classmates was the principal for the day so she gave them an assignment.  He needed help adding a few details to his picture (a coconut bra) so the "principal" helped him.  You can't tell in these pictures...but I think his face turned a little red. 

Reading & Sleeping

Brad took these sweet pictures of Ollie and Bo. 

Ollie keeps so many things up in his bed.  It doesn't seem to bother him.

Mulch Helpers

Now that track season is over we can focus on doing some yard work. It also helps that the weather has gotten a little nicer. Brad had some very eager helpers. It makes the job a lot easier....and possibly a little slower. 

Master of the Scooter

Bo has finally gotten the hang of riding the scooter. It's so fun watching him. Although he is getting a little too confident. 

Shopping with Dad

Brad took Darby & Colt shopping with him. They learned that shopping with dad can sometimes take a lot of patience. 

Kayaking

A few more pictures from our time at our neighbors cabin. 

Our favorites are the ones of me and Darby kayaking together. As we were out there doing this together it made me think about all the adventures I will get to have with her and I am thankful she is strong and brave enough to take on most challenges.
