Ice Cream

For our last full day at Cannon Beach we asked everyone what their top 3 things they would want to do. There was a little variety but it included skim boarding, beach time, the pool and ice cream.  We went to Suzy's scoops but then it made us all cold for our sunset walk on the beach. 

 

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter was on Sunday when we were in Cape Disappointment and even though the kids were begging us to do the Easter Egg Hunt we decided to wait until it wasn't so wet outside. We were finally able to do it in Cannon Beach.   Of course the kids said we didn't hide them very well but it did take a good 30  minutes to find all of them.  So it wasn't as easy as they thought. 

 

Swim & Skim

One of the nice things about the RV park is that it had a swimming pool and a hot tub.  It was a fun option for the kids and the adults.

Candy Cigarettes

We went into town and the Hodo's said we needed to go to the candy store. This is also where my kids were introduced to candy cigarettes.  As the mom I was quietly freaking out but I also remembered being a kid and discovering candy cigarettes.  

They wanted to get a picture of smoking in the alley. 

After our visit in town we went back down to the beach and hung out for a little bit and even played a little bit of rock golf. 

 

Cannon Beach

We made it to Cannon Beach in the afternoon. Unfortunately it had started raining when we got there so we didn't make the trek to the beach. Instead the kids went swimming and we got ourselves settled at our RV spot.

We didn't want to cook in the rain but we had planned to grill two of the nights and we were running out of nights.  

Brad & Dan set up a tent and started grilling. 

The next morning we had breakfast using the grill and we could see the sun peeking out of the sky.   

After breakfast and some more coffee (for some of us), we headed down to the beach.  

Dan, Colt, Trey, Kylie & Darby did some skimboarding.  The rest of the kids played some soccer and hung out at the beach.   It was a little cold but we were just thankful it wasn't raining. 

 

Fort Stevens

After we left Cape Disappointment we planned to stop at Fort Stevens because we had heard some great things about it. It was dumping rain as we were leaving but thankfully it cleared up when we made it to the park and we were able to explore a few areas.

We didn't really know where to go so we followed the signs that said Shipwreck.  We were all surprised by what we found as we weren't expecting much. 

Then we went over to the Bunker.  This is similar to what they have at Fort Flagler but it was still fun to explore. 

On our way out of the park we tried to find the Elk (since we had seen them briefly a little earlier).  Thankfully they were still down by the Lake so we were able to catch a glimpse of them.
