Drive thru Nativity

I was so excited to learn that Calvary Chapel was doing their live Nativity again. They have skipped some years so I'm always thankful when they have it. It is my favorite thing to do during the Christmas season. 

 

It's always a little different from year to year but we always leave reminded of the importance of this season and thankful for the efforts they put into this event. 

 

Tacky Tuesday

I subbed at the school on the Tuesday before break. They were having spirit week and my day of subbing fell on Tacky Tuesday.   I was more than excited to break out all my christmas gear to make it a bit tacky.  The kids loved it!

 

Softball Pajama Party

Darby's softball team had a Christmas party with a theme of matching family pajamas.  After a little stress and some poor planning we ended up going with a sports theme.  We also made all the kids go even though the boys weren't too excited about it.  (Colt ended up getting out of the obligation because he went to Crystal with a friend to go skiing for the weekend). 

Brody & Ollie came for the food, played a few games and then went home.   

 

Karaoke was super fun!  Darby & Bo both participated.  

Brad sang a song too and I was the back up dancer. 

 

IGBA Night

The high school had IGBA night for the select players. It was fun watching the high school team play. Ollie was also part of the half time show but then it ended up being canceled.

 

Christmas Tree

For the first time in a long time we got our Christmas tree from somewhere other than Home Depot. We have liked Home Depot because of its convenience and also because they had lower prices. But in the past few years it doesn't seem like it has actually been that much cheapter. A friend told me about a lot at a nearby church and all the proceeds go towards their missions. So, we decided to check it out. It was only a little bit further but not much. It took us less than 5 minutes to find the tree we wanted. I think we might be back next year.

 

MS Basketball

Darby had to miss a few games for her concussion so it was fun to see her back out on the court for her school team. But then she missed another game because she was sick. Such a bummer. We love watching middle school basketball. It's so fun!

 

League Play

Bo and Darby have started their league play for their basketball teams. I missed Bo's game but Brad took these pictures.

 

Haircut

Bo was long overdue for a haircut.  I was gone so I had Brad send me a picture. 

 

Concussion

 Darby got a concussion in one of her basketball games.  This is a picture from her visit to the doctor.  Thankfully she was only out for a week. 

Nutcrackers

This is the sign that we are getting ready for Christmas!   

Thanksgiving

After the Turkey Trot we drove down to Dallas & Carissa's house for the Thanksgiving meal. It was fun to be around younger kids. They bring lots of energy and fun to any event.  And of course holding a baby is always great!

 

Turkey Trot

I forced my family to run the Turkey Trot again. They were grumbling about it but in the end I think we were all better for it....maybe a bit sore....but we felt like we accomplished something before the big Thanksgiving day.

 

Dodd Clean up

 Dodd field (where the kids have played lots of baseball and softball games) had a ton of tree branches on the fields.  They organized a clean up crew and we made our kids participate.   Once we got there we got kicked off pretty quickly.   There were so many trees down nearby that the tree clean up crew didn't want us in the area.   We were still able to clean up quite a bit.

Early Thanksgiving

Power was back on at Grammy's place so we were able to join her for their Thanksgiving dinner. It was a full week before Thanksgiving. It was nice to go some place warm and have some delicious food. The company was also great!
