Letters & Books for Santa

Brody left two notes for Santa. One was his list and the other was a list he wrote out for Colt. It was so sweet watching him help his little brother.

Brody also made a football book.  I thought he wanted to keep it but he wrote an additional note to make sure Santa and his reindeer got it.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we went to church for the 2:00 service. We came back home for a nice relaxing evening with just our family.  I planned for a pizza dinner (easy on me, the kids like it etc.) but Brad had his heart set on a turkey dinner.  I told him he could but I didn't want to do any of the prep for it.  (yes, I can be grinchy).   Brad went to the store to buy all the needed food then came home and prepared all of it.  I was quite impressed.

After dinner we got the kids buckled into their seats to go look at Christmas lights.  But we were stopped when Uncle Buddy (Ed) showed up.  He had gifts for all the kids.  So we went back inside to open them.

They received 3 flying helicopters and a superman motorcycle.  Darby got a Hello Kitty and a Minnie Mouse Ball.

We are so thankful for our family and friends who bless us during this holiday season.

Piano

Fafa & Grammy helped us find a piano for our home. The only stipulation was that we had to find a way to get it from the house it had lived in back to ours. With the help of a few brother-in-laws and friends we got the piano into our house. We love the way it looks in our room and are excited to see what musical prodigies emerge from our house.

On Christmas Eve, Ed came over and played a duet with Brody.

Cul-de-sac Christmas party

We hosted our Cul-de-sac Christmas Party. This year we had Bingo, cookie deocrating and Brad's famous egg nog & rum.

We love our neighbors and are so thankful for them.

Random cuteness

Ollie found my camera and somehow managed to take a picture.

He got a good, clear picture of Darby.

Snow Day

The weather forecast was predicting snow, but I didn't believe it (I've been through too many false hopes in my life to get too excited).

The boys wanted to do a snow dance.
They also wore their pajamas inside out and backwards and slept with a spoon under their pillow.
Apparently these ideas are from a book that Brody had read in class.

It worked.
The boys were so excited in the morning.
They didn't understand why I made them eat breakfast before they went out.  It was fun to watch them make fresh tracks in the snow well before they would have been out to go to school.  School was canceled for the day.

Brody & Colt were the first ones out.

We found a snowsuit for Darby.

The neighbors finally came out to play.
And play they did.  They built snow forts and had a snowball fight.

Ollie and Darby were cold after an hour and wanted to go inside.

Brody and Colt stayed out for at least three hours.  They had a blast!

The neighborhood fort.

Another reminder of why I'm so thankful for our home.  I just love watching our neighbors play together as they make snow day memories.

Ginnaty's Christmas Lights

There's a Christmas Light Show on the other side of town, the Ginnaty Christmas Lights. We took the kids out to see it and then went to a Live Nativity at a church not too far away.  (I didn't get any pictures from the Nativity)

It was a fun night of Christmas festivities.

Preschool Christmas Performance

Colt & Ollie had their Christmas Performance. We were really happy to see the improvement Colt has made from last year.  They both did a great job.  Colt was a wiseman and Ollie was a shepherd.

Fafa & Grammy came to see the show.

Andrew came too.

A few videos.
(I will post the rest later)

WHOOOOO's the cutie pie?

Owls seem to the be the new thing for children's clothes. They even have it for boy outfits. (I have seen lots of feminine owls but this was the first I had seen for boys). The Beauchamps gave this outfit to Bo when he was first born. It's a 3 - 6 month size and it fits him perfectly right now.  (yes, it makes me sad)   He is such a cutie pie.
