Party time

Darby & Ollie had a short day on a Monday. Since we saw that the weather was good we decided to have Ollie's birthday party.  We had about ten 8th grade boys at our house and it was so fun (for them).  I spent a lot of money to feed them and still had to raid my pantry to find some more snacks. 

 

But this is Ollie's happy place.  He really couldn't ask for anything more than hanging out with his friends. 

 

Spring Band Concert

 These always sneak up on me.  Darby & Ollie had a spring band concert.  All levels of band were playing so we got to see Jazz band open (Ollie), then watched the beginning band (Darby) and thankfully were able to stay for the whole concert to watch advanced band (Ollie) finish.

We celebrated Ollie turning 14 a few weeks ago.

Braces

Darby got braces. She was nervous but also excited. I think she looks adorable! 

 

 

 

Friends

Darby has some good friends. 

 Penny loves hanging out with her and she is always spoiled when they are together.

 

More XC SKiing

My friend Sarah and I went up to the pass to do some more cross country skiing. It was snowing when we got there but then opened up to some blue skies.  It was a great way to spend the afternoon.  The season is winding down but I do hope I can do more of this next winter. 

 

Brunch

Grammy invited us to brunch at her new place. We were hungry and we ate some yummy food. Darby had to miss out because she had a basketball game that conflicted with the timing. But the rest of us made it for at least part of brunch.

 

Birthday Bowling

After returning from Hawaii we got to celebrate Brad's birthday. It started with a basketball game for Bo. Then we went bowling. The Hodo family joined us and it was a fun family activity.

Aloha and Mahalo!

Our final morning was a little relaxing since we didn't need to leave our house until 10:00. We enjoyed the pleasant morning with some coffee and breakfast and then packed up to head home. We were all sad to leave and wish we could have stayed longer. It has us dreaming of going back....and hopefully exploring another island. 

 

We returned our car and made it to the airport in plenty of time.  So some of us soaked up the last little bit of sun before we left. 

 

 We are thankful for another successful trip and happy we checked off our last state!  

Hawaiian mornings

One of my favorite things in Hawaii were the early mornings. The kids were sleeping...and sometimes Brad too so I went exploring.  It was so peaceful and perfect for some alone time. 

 

Lava Lava Beach Club

After golf I picked Brody & Colt up and headed back over to Lava Lava Beach Club. This is where we were hoping to eat dinner the night before but the wait was too long. We learned our lesson and got in early on the wait list this time.   

While we were waiting the kids played some cornhole and ping pong.  

They finally called our name and we got one of the best tables in the restaurant and we sat down 15 minutes before the sunset.  It was magical and a perfect ending to our trip.
