Date Night #4 - Batting Cages

The other day Brad texted from one of Colt's baseball practices and said "Let's go to the batting cages for our next date night."

Even though I'm not much of a baseball/softball player it sounded like a lot of fun.

I was right!  We had so much fun!  The batting cages were pretty close to our house so it didn't feel like we wasted our time.   We also did this first and then had lots of time to enjoy dinner and hanging out with each other before we had to return to the babysitter.

We were both able to get in about 22 minutes of batting practice and that was enough for both of us.  We left with some heavy arms and were sweating a little bit.

Lightning Tigers

When our kids aren't skiing they are playing basketball. Our saturdays are jam packed with games.

This is Ollie's team, The Lightning Tigers.

Ollie does such a great job doing exactly what he has been coached to do.  We just love watching him play.   His shooting percentage has to be one of the best in the league.

Ski Night

The same day I took Bo skiing, Brad took the rest of the kids at night. I would have gone but went to see my friend give a talk.  Bo went to his friends house.

Brad and the kids had a great time!  We hope we get more skiing adventures in this year.

Catching Lessons

Colt has been taking some catching lessons to get him ready for baseball season. I"m really not sure who loves it more, Colt or Brad.

Ski Day

The roads were bare and Bo and I had a whole day with nothing planned. So, I took him up to the mountain to go skiing. Brad is the one who is always in charge of things so I felt a little lost. But I did it. I navigated everything I needed to so Bo could practice his skiing.

We stuck to the Magic Carpet which ended up not being a very good fit.  His skis weren't very fast so he couldn't really practice his stops.

We finally found a few small hills and then Bo was having lots of fun.

We stopped for a lunch break.  (I had packed a lunch for us but forgot it....so I guess I don't have it all figured out yet).

Pizza, french fries and hot chocolate!

After lunch we did a little more skiing but Bo was also interested in playing in the snow.  He made snow angels, a snowman and we had a snowball fight.

It took a lot of patience but I had to remind myself of the memory I was making with him.  I came home exhausted!

Climbing & Flipping

I love being able to watch Darby during her gymnastics class. A video of her getting to the top of the rope climb.  I wish I was half as strong as she is.

Black Wolves

Colt's been in full basketball season since early December. They are a fun group of boys and we especially love watching Colt play.

Milkshakes and French Fries

We went to our local park the other day and Bo wanted me to buy something from his shop. To be honest, I have be doing this for quite a while now and sometimes I don't want to be involved in this pretend play.  But thankfully I quickly remind myself that these years are fleeting.  So I enjoy it and buy my milkshake and french fries.  They were the best tasting milkshake and fries I have had.

Business Trip

Brad had his annual business trip with Tailored Living. Thankfully, with the help of friends and Grandma Shari I was able to go too.

To be honest, I was a little annoyed with the timing, since it was right after Christmas, but I kept reminding myself to be thankful for the time I got to spend with Brad.

We got early boarding on Alaska Airlines because I was wearing a Russell Wilson jersey.  That at least made me happy since we were in security as the Seahawks were losing.

Enjoying a Pina Colada at Bahama Breeze.

We enjoyed our time at Starbucks and we just sat and read our books.  I finished 3 1/2 books on our trip.

Brad at his booth.

There are more pictures but they are on Brad's phone.

January Date Nights #1

If you don't know yet, about 6 years ago I made a resolution called January Date Nights. It was a challenge to go on one date a week in January. I didn't want to commit to the whole year because that was overwhelming.

We have been doing it every January since.  I have also sort of created a project that goes along with it.  So here are all the links.

Our first date night was a lunch date.  I was able to find a friend to watch Bo and met Brad for lunch.  We went to Mercury Coffee Company which is right up the road from his work.

The food was good but it was a very loud place.

It doesn't matter, it's just nice to have some time alone with each other.

Last Home Game

The Seahawks had their last home game against the Cardinals. Jessi really wanted to go with us so we sold our tickets and bought 4 tickets together. The plan was for Jason to join us but he got sick. So we asked Dallas (Carissa's husband) to come. I had to work a lot harder than I wanted to but thankfully we pulled off a win in an otherwise bizarre game.
