SuperParty Bowl

 We went to the birthday party for Andrew which also ended up being on Super Bowl Sunday.  We had a fun time even though most of us were cheering for the Eagles.  

This was the only picture I got from the night.  

Valentine's Dance

Someone asked Brad if he was going to the Valentine's Dance (Daddy/daughter dance).   Since they had friends going, Brad wanted to go too. 

They had a great time!   It's so sweet watching Brad with his one and only girl. 

They wanted to go to dessert after and most places were closed so they ended up at Dairy Queen. 

 

45!

The kids decorated my door. The funniest thing is they actually decorated it the night before when I had already fallen asleep.

After donuts, we went down to watch Holden's soccer game at Starfire Sports.  Then we met Grandma Shari (her birthday too), Papa Bob, Jason and Sarah at Olive Garden.  We celebrated our birthdays there. 

I am SO thankful for these 45 years of life and even more thankful for this wonderful mom who I get to share this special day with. 

 

It's a challenge to find Jason but it is an even bigger challenge to get a picture of him.  :)  

After lunch we went to Darby's soccer game, Colt & Ollie's basketball game and then Ollie's soccer game.   (Brad & Darby were at the Valentine's Dance) We ended my birthday with a celebration at Baskin Robbins.   

 

Jaunt in the Woods

My birthday fell on a saturday, which has its perks and challenges.   The biggest perk is we have a whole day of no school or work.   The challenge is we have kid's activities and sports which we love to watch.   I knew I wanted to do some physical activity in the morning and I really wanted to be in the woods so I convinced my friend, Jen, to join me for a jaunt in the woods.  It was a combination of running and hiking.   

We didn't go for a super long time because I needed to be back in time to get donuts & coffee for Brad and also wanted at least an hour before we went to all the activities for the day. 

We live in such a beautiful place! 

 

Cross Country Skiing

As part of my birthday celebration I planned a cross country outing with two of my friends, Karen & Sarah.  We went up on Friday morning to the Hyak snow park and went along the trail.  We had some clouds and some sun but really had a fun time being outside.  I'm thankful for these little adventures and for so many wonderful people in my life. 

 

Tryouts

 Brody is trying to figure out what he wants to do for soccer.  He went to a soccer tryout for the Gunners premier team. Brad watched for quite a bit and took some pictures.  Brad was impressed with the professionalism of the entire tryout.  Since the tryouts Brody was invited to be part of one of their teams and he has decided to play with them.  I think it will be a perfect fit for him. 

Big Business

 Brad had a meeting at ONRAX with the manufacturers of their motors.  It was a good meeting and more importantly was good to actually meet them in person.   (Brad is not pictured in this).  But just giving a very small snippet of some of the things Brad does during his days. 

Cheering Section

 We went to watch Abi play in a high school basketball game.   This was part of her cheering section.

Brad took Darby and Bo to visit Grammy & Fafa for the morning

Winter Baseball

 Colt had his first baseball scrimmage of the season.   I didn't get any pictures but a mom was getting some pictures done for the team and she sent me this one.   It makes my heart so happy.  I can't believe how fast these kids are growing up.

Bo-ski

While the girls were off skiing together, Bo and I had a lot of fun.  We went down the Alpine Bowl which we had both been pretty good at a few days earlier but the icy conditions weren't very fun.   So we went back over to Holiday and Gallery which was perfect and Bo especially loved going off jumps.

I realized Darby had an evening where she didn't have a practice and Brad didn't either.  So I suggested that they go skiing but before I could make my suggestion she was sending out a message to her basketball team to see who wanted to go. 

I ended up taking Darby and three of her friends up to the mountain on a Wednesday afternoon. Bo also came with us.  

It wasn't the best snow conditions....really icy on the steeper runs but at least there were some blue skies.  The girls were skiing all over the mountain and especially loving the jumps.   

They had a great time and we made it all home before a late bed time. 

 

Forced Family Ski Day

Last week the kids had no school due to a teacher work day.  So, I planned for a family ski day.   There were a few of the kids who weren't that excited about skiing (and in fact would rather work) but once we were up at the mountain we had a lot of fun. 

It was really foggy up there. 

The one negative that came out of this trip is the older ones were really helpful with Bo, so now he is officially better and more confident than I am.
