Boogie Boarding

When Brad arrived we went boogie boarding.  We didn't do when he wasn't here because the waves weren't great and I didn't feel like messing with wetsuits and boogie boarding by myself.   

The day we went, the water was very warm but the wind was blowing.  So it made for an interesting boogie boarding session, so we still had some fun. 

 

Tadpoles and Siblings

One of Bo's favorite things to do at the beach is look for tadpoles or little fish or something.  He was able to convince Darby & Brody to help him out.  I love that he is still little enough to delight in these things.  

 

Moclips time!

Once again we made it out to one of our favorite places. We are always so thankful when we get to go to Moclips. Brad, Colt & Bo had to stay behind a few days for some baseball.  It was definitely different without them but we still found ways to enjoy the beach. 

The kids are always making up some type of game.

And always fun to stand or play in the waves.

Entrepreneur

Ollie & his friends decided to start a window washing business. It turned into a car washing business and they ended up finding some customers.

Oops...too much sun!

The one negative part of the Mt. Adams climb is the sunburns all of the climbers got.   They put lots of sunblock on but climbing on snow for the whole hike made it difficult.  Colt's lips were really burnt.  They were so bad that Brad took him to urgent care to rule out any type of infection. 

When I first saw Colt's lips I told him that there are lots of people who pay big money for lips like his. 

 

We applied lots of Emu Oil (the natural store told us this would be the best option) and kept him out of the sun.  It was amazing how quickly it cleared up.  Today he has no side effects from his burn, thank goodness! 

 

The Summit

They hiked up to base camp and then pitched a tent for the night.   The climb in was hard but they all made it to base camp.   Since it hasn't been that warm they were hiking in snow for most of the way which makes the hike even more difficult.  

They went to sleep with lots of wind and weren't sure if they would be able to summit.  They waited a little longer than they wanted but decided to go for it.   The climb was challenging.  Brad felt pretty good.  He said Colt & Devin were having a tough time at the end but they all made it to the top!   We are so proud of them.
