Middle School Choir Concert

As part of the school choir, they are invited to the middle school for a concert. This was our first time so we didn't know what to expect. Now we know what its like and how we can plan for it. (as in we don't all need to go). There were 3 elementary schools and they all performed two songs. Then the middle school took the rest of the show, mostly giving short speeches about why people should join middle school choir. The intention was good, but when you have other kids to manage it makes for a long night. Brody did a great job, as always and it was fun to watch him perform. 

The Big 5!

We celebrated the big 5 for Darby.  It's going to be a great year for this one.  She is so excited for Kindergarten and just about everything else. 

Our day started with donuts. 

At Gymnastics they sang Happy Birthday to her.  

Then she wanted to go to the Library and play on the computers.  

Brody had a Choir concert so we had Subway for dinner.  Then we waited patiently for the concert to finish.  We went out for ice cream.  

We went back home for cake and presents.  And she had been waiting patiently ALL day to open her presents.   She was so happy! 

Shopping for Darby

Brad took Brody, Colt & Ollie shopping. They were looking for presents for Darby.  

It's a good and bad thing.   It's good because I detest shopping and Brad really likes it.  It's bad because Brad has a soft spot for his kids and can spend a little more than me.  

They obviously had some fun at Target.  

Sweet Dreams

I love it when Brad sneaks in to take pictures of our sleeping kids. 

Lewis Creek Hike

While the boys were up skiing I took Darby & Bo for a "hike". We went up to Lewis Creek Park and played on the playground before "hiking" the trails. The sun was wonderful! We can't wait for more of it and more consistently. 

Almost Spring Skiing

Brad took the boys up on Saturday before our auction to hang out with Uncle Jason and Zephyr. On Sunday Brad drove up there to go skiing with the boys. Brody & Colt stayed with Zephyr and Brad spent most of the day with Ollie. The had an absolutely beautiful day on the mountain. 

Live at the Peppermint Lounge

The kid's school has an auction every other year. We have never gone. When we decided we would go we thought why not make it fun and dress up a little. These things are nicknamed "mom prom" because all the ladies get dressed up in their fanciest clothes. Our "dress up" was a little different and a whole lot of fun.  We decided to go with the theme which was Live at the Peppermint Lounge.  We looked up pictures and tried our best to replicate it.   The night before we still didn't have our outfits figured out but we were able to sneak away to Value Village.    

I found this dress for $3.00.   Brad ended up renting his pants and vest from a costume store right next door.   Brad went back to Value Village to find some shoes and he also found this coat for me.   It was perfect.   

The biggest part of my outfit was figuring out how to do my hair.  I sent a message to my cousin Cameo, who does hair but in the meantime started researching and watched a few youtube videos.   I decided I could try it myself and I did.   It wasn't perfect but it was good enough for the evening.

We NAILED it!   We had so many comments and looks and loved every minute of it.   I was very comfortable in my dress and shoes and loved looking the part.  Brad was the same way and had some very great compliments.   

Most importantly we didn't go over our budget and had a fun time! 

There was one other group of ladies (about 5 or 6) who were dressed to the theme but we were the only couple.  My hope is that at the next auction more people will dress up like us.  

Spring Skiing

We are trying to squeeze in a few more days of skiing before the weather gets too warm. Brad took Colt up for an afternoon and thankfully they didn't get too much rain. 

Out takes

 For some reason it took a while for these pictures and videos to download.   They are pretty funny and it actually reminds me of myself....I would have a hard time blowing candles out because I was smiling too much.  

St. Patrick's Day

A leprechaun snuck into our house and turned the toilet green. He also left some Lucky Charms and turned the milk green too. Silly Leprechaun. Darby and Bo were the most excited about this whole idea and they were afraid to use the bathroom downstairs.
