On Sunday we went to the Whitewater center which is about 30 minutes outside of Charlotte. Ryker has been a fan of this place for quite a while and has even participated in a few camps. He was excited to show us everything. The first thing the kids did is set up their hammocks. It was almost like they owned this place.
After we bought our tickets we headed over to try out the Ropes Course. Little did we know that the short line we were in was actually really long. We only had two groups in front of us but somehow it seemed to take forever.
There were 3 different courses; beginner, intermediate and advanced. Brad asked what level we should choose if we had some athleticism and the guide recommended beginner for our first attempt. I'm so glad he did because this was very different from the ropes course I did in 6th grade. My legs were shaking.
Of course, the kids rocked it and did an amazing job. Annika, Aksel & Ryker all went on the advanced course since they have done rope courses a few times.
Brody & Colt did the intermediate course. Ollie, Darby, me and Brad did the beginner course.
Technically you aren't supposed to hold onto the cable that has you harnessed in place so on this obstacle you are supposed to tightrope your way across with a few ropes you can hang on to. But I completely ignored the "cable" rule.
Since we had waited in line for a long time we were all really hungry so we went back to our hammock setup to eat lunch before our next activity.
