The town

One of the unique things about Mackinac Island is they don't allow motorized vehicles anywhere on the island.   (We did see electric scooters and bikes).  So your options for getting around the island are a horse drawn carriage, bikes or walking.   We looked into taking a horse drawn carriage tour but learned that we could walk to the major sites within 40 minutes so we decided to do that instead. 

The town.  It's a cute little town but as Colt frequently pointed out it smelled like horse poop.  

We had some nice views and also saw some great houses.  We think most of these houses are rented out in the summer time.
