The problem with social media is now everyone finds out about special events. For example, Talk Like A Pirate Day at Krispy Kreme. We have tried to do this for a few years and each year is busier than the last. This year we decided to go after Brody's soccer practice so Brad could come with us.
You get a free donut for talking like a pirate and a free box of donuts for dressing up.
The line was out the door and it wasn't moving very fast.
Brad and I looked at each other and decided this wasn't going to work. It didn't take much to convince the kids to get a box of ice cream bars instead and I promised a box of fresh donuts in the morning. So much for free donuts but we do get some points for our efforts.
