Canadian cousin

We have been waiting for over a year and a half for Zephyr to be able to visit again.  

The kids were so excited to see him.  We met him up at Papa Bob's property and did some go kart riding and enjoyed some hamburgers.    We are looking forward to hanging out with him some more while he is here.  

Summer project

Brody has been wanting to paint his room and redecorate it for quite some time.   I kept telling him we would do it after our trip.  While we were on our trip Brody was collecting things so he could redecorate his room.  

Darby got wind of Brody's plan to paint so she wanted to paint her room.  It has never been painted so it was hard to argue with her.  She also was starting to get a bit competitive and wanted to get it done before Brody finished his.

If you ever want a job done, hire Brody.  Don't hire me.   Brody is very detailed, meticulous and patient (like someone else I know).   

 

 

 

 

 

Ollie loved helping Brody paint his room and of course he wants to paint his room Orange and Blue now.  I've convinced him to wait a few more months.  

 

 

Brody watched some youtube videos to learn how to paint the edges.....just like someone else I know.

Olympics 2020

It’s 2021 but we had fun celebrating the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in our cul de sac.   We have done this for every summer Olympics so it was fun to look back on the pictures over the years.   (Brody was working with Brad so he missed out).  

I had a lot of help this year with my neighbor Heather doing some of the activities.  Bella & Emmi were also very helpful with the water balloons and regular balloons. 

Overall, it was a fun event and a great excuse to get the kids outside. 

IBC tryouts

Bo had tryouts for the Issaquah Baseball Club.  This is the same baseball club Colt played with for a few years so he was eager to help and watch the tryouts.   

Bo did a great job and made the team.   He had all his siblings and his dad helping him prepare and practice for the tryouts. 

Anniversary Tradition

We saw we had a weekend open on our calendar and it was also near our anniversary so we made some very last minute plans to go to Mt. Rainier.    Since they were very last minute we were only able to find one place for lodging on a Sunday night.  

We dropped the kids off at Papa Bob & Grandma Shari's on Saturday.  Sunday morning we drove up to Mt. Rainier.   

Brad was telling someone it was our anniversary tradition to go to Mt. Rainier.   I'm not sure going 4 times over the course of 17 years counts as a tradition, but we certainly like to think we go more often than we actually do. 

It was nice to just be together and to have no agenda.  We hiked until we were ready to be done and enjoyed every bit of it. 

The weather was hazy and we could see the top of the mountain when we started but when we got to our turn around point the top was covered in fog.  

Even with the haze this place is amazing and it is no wonder the trails were packed.   

Ellis time!

After our time in Hood Canal we stopped to pick up our cousin, Ellis.   We were all excited to have him at our house for a few days.   

He was great and it is so fun having a 3 year old around.  

 

Boating

When the tide is in its our chance to go boating.   The kids enjoyed inner tubing but then we were able to try out wake boarding and water skiing.  We were so proud of Bo who was able to get up on water skis before anyone else had a chance to try.
