Miss Kathy's Pool

The summer was sneaking by us and we still hadn't made it to Miss Kathy's pool. I sent her a message and we found a date that worked. Zephyr was also with us so the kids had tons of fun! 

They did make me nervous when they ran and jumped off the diving board.  

 

13 years!

It almost came and went without us doing anything but thankfully we got a babysitter to come over for a few hours so we could spend some time with each other.  We went to happy hour at Tutta Bella then went to the Verizon store (so romantic).  Then we went for a walk along the East Lake Sammamish Trail and finally enjoyed a Starbucks together.  

As the years continue to fly by we are continually reminded of all the crazy, wonderful, hard, joyful, stressful things that come with life and marriage.  We are so thankful for each other...mostly that we continue to put up with each other.  It isn't perfect...but it certainly is a fun ride! 

Wedding Tractor

Our trip to Prineville was to attend the wedding of Cody & Kara. Cody is Brad's cousin.   WE had a fun time and took a nice family picture on this tractor. 

Races at the Golf Course

It was a beautiful evening on the golf course. We decided to have a few family races. 

Sometimes it is tough being the littlest.  

Swimming at Pronghorn

While in Oregon we stayed at Uncle Denny's house (Brad's uncle). They have an awesome community pool that is perfect for kids. It even has a water slide which was a favorite of the kids. 

We spent all of Friday here and part of Saturday.   

I tried to get a picture to document that I was there too.

Just adding to our busy summer.  We made the trip down to Oregon to go to a family wedding.   It was a HOT day so we had some fun watching the temperature go up.  Brad got a picture that said 110.  Thank goodness for air conditioning. 

 

But the air conditioning is probably the thing that put this trusty mini van to the limit.  Just as we were making our way up the mountain I noticed the needle getting closer to the maximum line.  Yes, I was driving and this seems to happen to me a lot.  Maybe I'm too hard on the car.  Or maybe we were driving up a hill with the air conditioning on full blast on a very HOT day. 

We weren't in a very good cell service area but thankfully Brad was able to make some phone calls.   It turned out it wasn't too bad so we continued....with the heat blasting and the windows rolled down.  We made it all the way to Bend without the needle going any higher than the midway point.  

And these kids...whined a little but mostly were great! 

Annual Alki Beach Day

My friend Jen and I were able to schedule our annual Alki beach day. I like to do it during one of the last two weeks of the summer but with both of our calendars we were only able to go on August 1. 

And just like every year we all had a blast! 

You may have noticed we had a few extra kids with us.  My neighbor girls were with us for a few hours and Jen brought an extra boy.
