Putting on a show

We were getting ready to leave but the kids were busy working on their show. I think they would have worked on it all night but we had to finally tell them they needed to perform it.

We still aren't sure what the show was but Brody does a great job with interpretative dancing.

All the kids on the couch....so ready for bed.

Pool & S'mores

We visited Brad's cousin and her family. It is always so nice to see them. The girls are great with the boys and were very helpful in the pool. I think they are excited for Darby to get a little bigger so they can actually play with her too.

It was so nice out we were able to go for a little swim.

And Nanny was able to hold Darby....again.

Another highlight was meeting the neighbors puppies....
....and eating s'mores.

Prineville Ninja Warrior

We recently let the boys watch a show called American Ninja Warrior. It is basically a big obstacle course for adults. The boys love it and we have now had to lecture them about not making obstacles out of everything in our house.

When we were in Prineville we went to a park and spent time on the playground.  The boys were quick to get into their American Ninja Warrior mode.

Headed to Prineville

Last weekend we made a last minute decision to head to Prineville to visit Nanny. It was a long trip down there but the boys did a pretty darn good job (except for the last 25 minutes where we were all getting cranky)

The best part about this trip was I was organized enough to pack lunches so we could stop at a rest stop rather than spending too much money and food that the boys wouldn't eat.  Plus the boys were able to run around and pick flowers.

They picked these flowers for Darby to put in her hair.

As soon as we got to Nanny's house Darby was spoiled with lots of cuddle time.

Colt's 2 wheel bike

Colt has been such an efficient scooter rider that he has shown very little interest in riding a bike, even with training wheels.  The other night Brad was out with the boys and Colt walked up to him with bike in hand and asked if daddy would show him how to ride it.

And so he did.

His only trouble is he is so excited that he can't stop laughing. He definitely has a little more practice to go but it won't be too long before he and Brody are chasing each other on their bikes.

Our neighbor is 2 months younger than Brody and when Brody first learned to ride a bike you could tell their was a little bit of competitiveness brewing in him.  As you can imagine when Colt got right on and started riding our neighbor was anxious to try it out too.  It was just the motivation he needed to also learn how to ride a 2 wheeler.  So our cul-de-sac will be quite busy with bikes this summer.

I didn't get it on video but every time Colt went for a long stretch he would get off his bike and jump up and down. He was so excited and we were so excited for him.

Preschool Picnic

As an end of year celebration Brody's preschool had a picnic. One of the families lives on Lake Sammamish and offered their home to host all of us. I was thinking about finding someone to watch Ollie & Darby so I could focus on the older two but instead decided to take all 4. It was a little hectic but I had lots of help and the boys had a ton of fun.

Brody receiving his preschool certificate.

His wonderful teachers

Colt, Miss Beth, Brody & Miss Melissa
(Brody likes Miss Melissa the best because she has the prettiest face.  Miss Pat & Miss Beth are well aware of the fact that all the kids like the young teacher the best).

Brody & Miss Pat

I LOVE LOVE LOVE his preschool and the main thing that makes it so special are his fabulous teachers.  I can't say enough about them.  Colt will be going there next year and I am praying all of my boys teachers have a positive impact on their lives.

Independent Drinker

I had happy hour with some of my friends so I left Brad with the 4 kids which meant Darby had a bottle. Thankfully she does take a bottle but it still is a little tricky for her. Apparently it took her 45 minutes to drink it and during this time Brad was needed by one of the boys (imagine that). Brad set her up so she could finish off the bottle (and he managed to take a picture too).
