Workshop

There is a cute little shop that opened up in our town called Workshop Issaquah. I have had the chance to meet and collaborate with the owner and she is just a gem. She hosts a little Artist drop in on fridays. And since we have had lots of rain it was the perfect excuse to get out of the house to do something.

She has lots of different activities set up including play-doh, painting and wooden blocks.

Bo liked building the house out of wooden blocks the most.

And there is a frozen yogurt shop next door so that is a fun treat too.

Unsolved Case Files

My friend gave us this for Christmas to use for one of our date nights. Last week we took it to Tutta Bella and solved the case.

It only took 2 hours before our server asked if this was a real case.  We had mug shots spread all across the table.

It was a fun night and I'm always grateful for our date nights.

Ollie & Mom date

Ollie and I had a Mom and son date. His first choice would probably be flying circus but I took him to Barnes & Noble. (It was closer and we didn't have much time).

Since my kids don't get out much this was one of the first times he remembers being here.  (He may have gone when he was about 3 or 4).  He absolutely LOVED it!   We told me he wants to have his birthday party here.

He also picked out a few books.  He was so Happy!

After Barnes & Noble we went to Starbucks so he could get a caramel frappucino with extra caramel.  He also got a double bacon gouda sandwich which is now his new favorite.

We had a fun time and I am so thankful I get to do this with him.

Date #3! Axe Throwing

We had our 3rd date for January Date Nights last week. I didn't tell Brad where we were going. We drove over to Broadway on Capitol Hill which is an adventure by itself. Then we walked into Blade & Timber, an axe throwing place. Brad said "What? This might be the coolest date ever." (Our standards aren't that high).

I was happy he was excited about it.

We ended up getting our own lane.  We were supposed to share it but the other couple showed up late so we had our own.  (Thank goodness.  They seemed like nice people but they were obviously still in the early dating stages so he was trying to impress her).

For the first few minutes we had a coach who taught us how to throw the axe.   Then we had some time to practice.

After some practicing the coach came back and showed us how to throw it under hand and also throwing two axes at a time.

We had such a fun time and we are so thankful we were able to do this.

Snow Day #3!

Our 3rd day of snow wasn't as exciting. A lot of the snow had been played with and it was starting to melt. Brody, Colt & Ollie went to a friend's house to finish up an igloo they were working on.

I played a few games with Darby & Bo.

Then we decided to get in the hot tub.   It's awesome in the snow!

After Darby & Bo did some snow challenges including one that involved Bo burying her in snow.  She didn't last too long.

Snow Day #2!

Our 2nd day of snow was even better. There wasn't a lot on the street but the snow started piling up around noon.

Colt came walking back home with this group of boys.

They came to sled down our hill.

It was so fun watching these boys work hard to make their hill and then watch them try to sled down it.    They moved lots of snow.
