Bo's Dedication

We had Bo's dedication at church on Sunday. It was a special time and a great reminder for us. Bo is a true gift from God and we are so thankful that we have been trusted to be his parents. We are also thankful for our family and friends who continue to support us as we raise our children. It isn't easy and it would not be possible without our village.  Our church community is one of our biggest villages.  We are blessed!

I love that we brought all of our kids up with us.  What a special moment.

Going for a ride

With my kids so close in age it makes things quite fun for everyone. Brody can make up a cool game and still get Bo in on the action.

Brody put Bo in one of our toy bins and pulled him around the house in it.  Bo thought it was so fun and was also so relaxed about it all.

Preschool Time - Painting

For a number of different reasons we decided not to have Ollie in preschool this year.  So I guess you could call it homeschooling for his preschool year.  I don't have too much planned.  I hope I don't screw him up for Kindergarten.

It really has been fun having him home every day, although also challenging since it means I ALWAYS have at least 3 kids at home.  I am finding ways to make it work.

We decided to do some painting.  30 seconds into it I was reminded of why I LOVE preschool.   The kids had a blast but it was messy.  And since I'm the only teacher I have to clean it up.

Thank goodness for washable paint.   And thank goodness for super cute children.

Birthday donut

We didn't do much for Bo's actual birthday. Please don't tell him. In fact the night before I realized I hadn't even thought about cupcakes. So I decided to get Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast instead. Bo thought they were pretty tasty and so did the rest of the kids. Other than that we didn't do much.

One Year!

I'm a mess. I can't believe our baby is one year old today. Bo is just absolutely perfect for our family.

Remember this?

I do but I don't.
I miss this SO much.  The smells, the cries, the movements and even sleepless nights.  I really do want another baby but at the same time I am happy our family feels complete.  I don't feel like something (or someone) is missing.

And for these reasons and more, I need some counseling.

And here he is at almost a year.  We love this little guy and are so thankful for him.

Push Up Contest

As we were finishing dinner our conversation turned to how strong Brad's upper body is because of all the physical work he has been doing lately. So, I decided to challenge him to a push up contest. Now, I have NEVER had strong arms (I was a soccer player). But lately I have been doing more upper body work (i.e. push ups). So I'm proud of the progress I have made. It's not much but its a lot to me.  The more we talked about the contest the more I knew Brad would CRUSH me.  But I didn't care.  I wanted to see how many he could do and I wanted to see how many I could do.

Brad went first.

He did 35 in a row.  Then stopped.

Then it was my turn.
(Smiling before)

I did 20.  (I knew I could do 10 but didn't know how many more I could do)
Brad said I had good looking push ups.

And of course the kids were excited for our contest.

Brody did 30 and Colt did somewhere around 30.  They were excited to beat me.

It was a fun little event and a reminder of the competitive nature of our relationship (and family).

Now I have something to work on.

Sweetness

Just a little bit of Darby in all her sweetness.
