Neighborhood Baseball

We have had some glorious spring like weather.  It was wonderful being outside and playing with our neighbors.  We even had a game of baseball.  (Thankfully our neighbor, Jason, was the adult in charge of pitching and coordinating whose turn it was).

In defensive position.

Brody is the catcher.

A few videos of Brody & Colt swinging their bats.  (We have a little work to do).

My Cutie Pies

After our Sweden Hat pictures Colt and Ollie wanted a few more.

I'm not sure what this pose is, but it had me laughing and taking in the moment.  These boys bring me so much joy (I have to remind myself of that sometimes)

Ollie is always ready with his biggest smile.

Sweden Hat

We were invited to dinner by one of Brad's cross country runners and his parents.  They are Swedish and know that Brad is too.  They were excited to serve us some traditional swedish meatballs and other tasty food.   The boys had a lot of fun and even went home with this Swedish hat.

Brody had it on first, but Ollie wanted a picture too.

It was hard to see the Sweden with his cheesy grin so I managed to get a picture of him with a serious face.

Brody was ready with his superstar pose.

Colt's Counting

I have been posting a few videos of Ollie's talking and singing.   I have felt a little guilty that I haven't posted any of Colt, since his talking has progressed quite significantly in the past few months.   He is really working hard on his talking and is very patient with us when we can't understand him.   However, Colt does not always like to be in front of the camera so I try to not to make a big deal out of it.

The other day I heard him counting and wanted a video.  He happily counted for me again, knowing full well he was being recorded.

He may have missed a few numbers but it makes me so happy that his confidence his growing in both his speech and his counting.

Date Nights

I usually have pictures to post and its mostly about the boys.  But this post is to document a little something about me and Brad.

I don't make New Year's Resolutions but I always use the New Year as a way to think about my life and things I can work on or do a little bit better.  One thing I am pretty happy about is the effort Brad and I have made to have date nights and to spend time with each other.  With our 4th baby coming in a few months I thought it would be a good time to focus on spending time with each other so I decided to a date night once a week for the month of January.    We were able to do this and really had a great time, even though the dates may seem relatively boring to those without kids.   Here is a recap of what we did (mostly so I have it documented somewhere).

Date #1 - Dinner at Ikea and browsing Ikea furniture
Date #2 - Drive to Green Lake
Eat at Tacos Guaymas (one of our "regular" places before we were married)
                Starbucks
Browse through the store at REI
Date #3 - Dinner with Karl & Lori at Jak's  (it was nice to go out with another couple to a fancier restaurant with no kids.  We really enjoyed the company)
Date #4 - Movie Night - Contraband
We arrived at the movie with barely enough time to eat dinner so our dinner consisted of popcorn, pop and a pretzel.
                Starbucks
Date #5 - University Village
Dinner at the RAM  (we used to go to this restaurant a lot with our soccer team.  I love the RAM chips)
Browse stores - Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware
               Starbucks

These dates have been such a great reminder of the importance of connecting with each other.   We may not get a date night every week for a while but we know we can look forward to date nights again, sometime.

Sleeping Pictures

I decided to snap a few pictures of the boys sleeping.

Colt with his light up turtle.

For some reason this picture is upside down.  That is not how he sleeps.

I just love these adorable faces.

Rocket to the Moon

Brad was looking for some suitable "boats" to use in our rainy day play.   He found this rocket, in its original packaging, from his childhood.

All the boys had fun with it, but I'm pretty sure Brad was having the most fun.  He wanted me to get a video so I did my best to get one.  I was able to get the rocket in part of the video.
