My 3 sons

I had Colt's 3 year pictures taken a few weeks ago.  Brody & Ollie also joined us, but as you can tell in these pictures I did nothing to make them look picture ready.  My sole focus was to get pictures of Colt.  Our photographer took some cute ones of all three boys.

Brody often picks out his "cool" clothes and this day was no different.

We cut Ollie's hair AFTER the pictures.

They were checking out the airplane.

Off to Work

The boys love saying goodbye to Brad whenever he leaves. The other morning they rushed out to the front porch, sat on their chairs and started waving.

I was able to get this cute video of them saying goodbye.  I love my boys!

Fall Yard Work

Since we have had a few days where it hasn't been raining Brad has tried to get outside to do some fall yard work.  The other day Colt wanted to join him. (surprisingly Brody wanted to stay inside)  It was just Daddy and Colt and it was so sweet to watch him help.

Pumpkin Carving Party

We had our cul-de-sac pumpkin carving party a few days before Halloween.  As always the kids had lots of fun.  We had some yummy food and lots of treats.

Brad working hard on the pumpkin with Brody giving him some guidance.

The weather was so nice we were able to open the garage door and the kids played outside.  (it wasn't warm but it wasn't raining).

I LOVE this picture of Colt and his pumpkin.

Trick-or-Treating

We have wonderful neighbors!  This year my neighbor decided to have a little pre trick-or-treating party.   We had pizza, some veggies and even Krispy Skreme donuts.  It was a great way to load up on sugar energy before we started.

While we were at our neighbors Ollie was scared by a ghost mask (worn by another kid).  It made me nervous because I was afraid it would make him not want to trick-or-treat (if you think about the idea, it is a little scary and overwhelming for a little kid.  Walk around in the dark then knock on strangers doors).   Once we went to the first house Ollie realized he got something to put in his bag (I think he didn't even know it was candy he just liked getting something).   I could tell he was a little scared at every house but he was determined to do his job.

He was such a trooper and practically walked the entire time we were out.   The only times I carried him were when I wanted to get some where quicker.

Colt loved his Mater costume and so did everyone else.

How sweet is this?  The Fairy (Annika) escorting Francesco

One of the highlights of the evening was R2Beer2.   It made its way around the neighborhood as parents watched their kids trick-or-treat.  It did have one accident when it fell over and beer spilled out.  Brad was lucky enough to get a cup of the Halloween specialty.  :)

A little video of Ollie at his first house.

Francesco, Mater & Guido

About a month ago I started asking the boys what they wanted to be for Halloween.  They never gave me a clear answer.  I started to think about the things they liked and what they might be interested in.   They both love the movie cars.

I also have a problem buying Halloween costumes.  But I really LOVE being creative and coming up with my own costumes.  (whether it's putting together an outfit from things in our closet or making them).

I saw this idea on a friend's facebook page and decided to replicate cars for the boys.   I think Brad thought I was a little off my rocker when I first mentioned it, but I went ahead and started collecting boxes and painting them.  I painted all the pieces but then I was stuck with a good way of putting them together.

This is when Brad came to the rescue.  He is so much more detail oriented then I am and did a wonderful job putting the final touches on their costumes.

Our family picture.

Francesco (I asked Brody if he wanted to be Lightning McQueen and he requested Francesco)
You may notice that the front of his car is not on the picture above.  This is because it came off very quickly as he was stepping down from a step.  Our engineering forgot to account for these things.  Brad tried to fix it once but after the 2nd "crash" we just kept it off.

The boys painted their own wheels and Brody noticed that Francesco's wheels were red on the inside.

Tow Mater.  Colt couldn't be any more excited to be Tow Mater for Halloween.

You have to love the hook.

Guido.  Ollie was such a trooper!  He didn't want to be in his costume at first but as long as he had this gun he seemed to be happy.   (we were able to trade it for his candy bag later).

An adorable picture of Ollie walking.

More Halloween night stories to come....

Preschool Circus Party

Brody's preschool had a circus party (in place of a Halloween party).  I had signed up to help coordinate the activities along with these other moms.

Yes I am a bit of a goofball, but it doesn't bother me one bit... I love this stuff.

Look, there's my growing belly.

The class getting ready for instructions.

I was in charge of the bean bag toss. I actually remembered to take pictures of Brody while I was trying to help the kids.

All the kids throwing the bean bags at the board.

The entire class a the Circus Party.

My parents were so helpful and came to watch Colt & Ollie so I could be with Brody at his party.
