Ice Cream

On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, Brody was having his nap/rest time. After it was time to get him up I went into his room. He was so excited to show me his suitcase. He couldn't stop telling me that he was ready to go to Grammys house and he packed 5 underwear. I wasn't sure if Brad (or Grammy) had mentioned something to him, so I asked if he had talked to Grammy. He said "no, but I will call her." We did. And the short story is that Brody went to Grammy & Fafa's and spent the night there. He had a great time!

We were left with two boys and it felt like we had all sorts of freedom. It was also nice to have some special one on one time with Colt. So that night after dinner we gave Colt some ice cream. He was so happy to get such a special treat.

A little video of Colt eating ice cream. (Brad is saying something at the beginning but I'm not quite sure what it is. I think it is "look at the big brain on Brad." I don't know what that means but its kind of funny.)

It was a nice little break from having 3 around, but we could tell that Colt missed his best friend. Don't worry they were quickly back to their fighting....I mean sharing ways.

Bouncy Chair

This is where Ollie spends a good part of his awake time. Being the third child you tend to get neglected at times. I am really trying my hardest to let him see other parts of this world but the reality of the situation is that he is here, in this bouncy chair, a lot. I'm glad he likes it so much. He smiles at the little animals moving around and making noise. I'm thankful for the people who invented this piece of baby gear because otherwise Ollie would be staring at the ceiling.

This is a little piece of evidence that I am trying to have some interaction with him.
Warning: There is a really loud mommy voice and clicking sound.

Little Helpers

Cleaning is definitely not at the top of my list of enjoyable activities. But it is a lot more enjoyable when I have my little helpers.

I gave Brody and Colt a spray bottle with water. They absolutely LOVE it. Brody walks around the house spraying it and wiping it down. He is so polite and asks if I can clean stuff. "Mom, can I clean the trains?" When I say "yes, you can" he gets so excited. And of course since Brody is cleaning Colt wants to clean too.

Brody wiping down the dump truck.

Spraying the dump truck.

Colt is drying the windows.

A video of Brody and Colt cleaning. Colt is drying off a round red toy. He asks me to spray more but its still covered in water.

I hope they still want to help years from now.

Colt - 21 months

Colt is a little closer to 22 months then he is to 21 months but here are a few pictures.

It's hard to believe he is almost two. And then when I think to exactly a year ago he wasn't even walking. A lot happens in a year!

Making Pancakes

When Brad made me pancakes for Mother's Day he was excited about how quick and easy it was to make them. Since then he has made us pancakes a few more times. As usual the boys wanted in on the action. Brad had a lot of patience letting them help and watch as the pancakes cooked.

This is one of those weird pictures where it looks like Colt is right next to the stove but he's really far away. (I was standing right next to him...and I would have had him further back if I was the pancake chef)

Brad explains how to tell if the pancakes are done. Brody asks for a taste test. Yes, that is Ollie crying in the background. I am ignoring him so I can get this video shot. (It's also what happens to the third child)

Colt & the Elephant

Brody woke up and wanted to put on his elephant costume. He was quickly annoyed and took it off. Colt saw it and wanted to put it on. This is the first time that he has worn it and he loved it.

He's getting a lot better at smiling for the camera.

Colt doesn't say too many words yet but he has been able to make an elephant noise for quite awhile.

Practicing Poker

After cake and ice cream at Uncle Brian's birthday party the big guys decided to play a game of poker. It wasn't too long before Brody & Colt wanted to join in on the action.

Once again you will have to ignore the mommy narration.
