RV Shuffleboard

We stopped at the Wolf Lodge RV Park outside of Coeur D'Alene on our way back. It was close to the freeway but otherwise the kids really enjoyed this RV Park. The best part was the shuffleboard which the kids and Brad played until it was past dark.

On our way out of Coeur D'Alene we stopped at another RV park where some of Darby's softball teammates were staying.  It was a quick meetup but fun to see them there.

Stops

We also made a few other stops.

One for lunch and one for an afternoon coffee and grocery store trip.  We loved our coffee stop in Kellogg, Idaho.  We know it is a happening place during the ski season so we want to come back.

Alpine Coaster

Our drive from East Glacier to Coeur D'Alene was six hours. It looked daunting but Brad and I decided we would see how the day went and also would try to stop and have some fun along the way. We saw this alpine coaster on the way to Glacier so we stopped on our way back.

Although a little pricey it was a fun way to break up our drive and a new experience for all of us.

East Glacier KOA

We were able to get a spot at the East Glacier KOA which allowed us to go visit this side of the park. While we were parked there a thunderstorm came through. It was exciting listening to the rain and the thunder.  We also had a pretty spectacular view.

Highline Trail

After our hike to the waterfall we decided to take the shuttle back up to Logan's Pass.  Colt was anxious to hike the Highline Trail.

It was a beautiful drive up and we enjoyed a different view of the park.

Once we got up there Brad, Bo and I decided to turn around after it got to be a little unenjoyable.   The rest of the kids hiked on the trail and then met us back at the Visitor Center before we went back down on the shuttle.

East Glacier

After we learned more about Glacier and where everything was Brad decided we should try to go to East Glacier. I was on board with the idea but I also wasn't the one driving the extra 2 hours to get there. It would also mean our drive home would be a bit longer.

We are so glad we decided to drive over to the East side.  It was stunning.  We accidentally went on a road with a vehicle limit of 21 feet.  Thankfully we didn't realize this until we were driving back the next day and then we avoided it.

We decided to hike to water fall.

The highlight was the kids jumping off the bridge into some freezing cold water.  Colt even did a few backflips.

Avalanche Lake

Rain moved into West Glacier on Saturday morning so we had a relaxing morning before we decided to brave the rain and head out for a hike. We decided to do Avalanche Lake.   The rainy weather made for a short wait at the Shuttle.   It was raining when we started but by the time we got to the lake it had cleared out and made for some beautiful pictures.  The boys even decided to jump in the very cold water for a swim.
