Tee Time

One of the things Brad wanted to do in Hawaii was play golf. We thought it would be a bit of a long shot with the cost but after inquiring about it we learned it was much more reasonable than we anticipated. 

 

They had a special rate for "kids" and Colt was ready to go.    The special rate did mean they had to go in the afternoon when it was the warmest.  But Brad said the whole time it was very pleasant.  Never too hot or too cold. 

They had a great time!

 

 

Beach Family Pictures

We managed to get a family picture on the beach. 

This makes my heart so happy.

 

Baseball at the Beach

Brad & Colt took a break from the beach to work on some throwing and catching.

 

Mauna Kea

We had one more full day of Hawaii so we asked the kids what they wanted to do, giving them lots of options. It was unanimous. They all wanted to go back to the beach. I told them we could go back to Hapuna beach (since we all had a great time there) or we could try going to Mauna Kea beach which was similar and in some people's opinions better than Hapuna. The only catch was the parking was very limited which meant we would have to get there by 9:00 or earlier. (We had been having some lazy mornings) All the kids were up for getting up early and taking our chances on an early arrival. We left our house around 8:35 and made it to the parking gate at 8:59. We told the gate attendant we were there for the beach and he said "Ok, you just got the last spot." 

 

We were beaming and ready for our epic day at the beach. 

 

 We did some more boogie boarding and wave jumping. 

We also relaxed with pina coladas in our hand.  

Also, played a lot of catch with the football.

 

And always putting on more sunscreen.

 

Shaved Ice

Ollie was asking for Shaved Ice so we all went to the shopping center to get some. Well, everyone but Brad. When we got there the place also had ice cream. So, everyone but Ollie decided to get ice cream.

 

Hapuna Beach

After a slower morning and a walk over to Starbucks we packed up our gear for the beach. The house we stayed in had beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, snorkel gear, boogie boards and a cooler. It was awesome! We decided to check out Hapuna Beach because it was highly recommended.

We quickly learned why it came with a high recommendation.  It was a beautiful sandy beach with great waves for boogie boarding.  We all had a wonderful time hanging out at the beach and enjoying Hawaii even if we were with hundreds of other people.

 

Don't worry I was the sunscreen police.  

Pool time

We made it to our final stop in Waikoloa Village. One of the perks of this place was the Pool Pass we got for the hotel. So as soon as we unpacked our stuff we headed over to the hotel. We had to drive over since it was a long walk from our place. The kids played in the pool for a bit and Brad and I checked out the sunset.  We also saw some whales playing in the ocean.
