Quick Beach Trip

We took Gunner & Sayler down to the beach in our neighborhood. It was cold for Gunner but refreshing for the rest of us. They also did some sand castle building or digging.

 

Papa Bob's 72nd!

 It was so fun that we were able to celebrate Papa Bob's birthday.  It seems like we are usually out of town.  He got some new shoes, a new hammock and a new frisbee. 

 

Clearly the best part was being able to eat cake with some of his grandkids.  

 

 

 

Picking Plums

Jim & MaryJo (Papa Bob's neighbors) always let us pick whatever fruits and vegetables we want from their garden. Darby & Sayler were trying to find some ripe plums. There weren't very many that were ripe yet so it was a little tricky and required climbing the plum tree.

 

Go-Karts

Time with the cousins always means a trip to the property to ride the Go-Karts.  Colt wasn't able to join us because he had a couple of baseball tryouts.  

The rest of the kids had fun and were SO dirty! 

 

Butch's 73rd!

Uncle Butch had a birthday barbecue for his 73rd birthday.  We went over after Darby's softball game and enjoyed hanging out and celebrating Uncle Butch. 

 

After the barbecue we stopped by Great Grandma Joyce's house to say hi.  What a great picture of her and some of her great grandkids.  

Fort Flagler

After our day at Mason Lake I was ready to have a chill day but Papa Bob decided we should just go for it. So we went to Fort Flagler where Uncle Jason was camping and crabbing. 

 

We explored the bunkers, played checkers, ate ice cream and played horseshoes and soccer.   

 

Darby and I had to leave early (Sayler and Grandma Shari came with) but the rest of the boys enjoyed their time.   

 

Mason Lake

We were invited by Mike & Sally to Mason Lake the day after the 4th. My kids weren't that excited about going since we just came from minutes away from there and they knew how long of a drive it would be. But Gunner & Sayler really wanted to go so we went.  (Colt stayed home because he had hurt his foot pretty badly the night before). 

 

The kids had a blast! Mike took the kids innertubing. Then he stopped back in before he took them back out to try wake surfing.  Darby, Sayler, Gunner, Ollie & Brody were all successful.  Bo didn't try it this time. 

After Darby & I left (for softball practice) Mike took them back out for some more innertubing.  

It was a great day to be on the water.
