Disney Dreams

After our trip to Disneyworld last year I was talking to my friend Sarah about celebrating my 50th in Disneyworld. She thought it was wonderful and also loved Disneyland. Not sure how it happened but we ended up planning a trip to Disneyland to celebrate her 50th (which was last summer).  As if we really need a reason.  

So last week we left early Tuesday morning to fly to Disneyland. 

(BTW- the scariest ride was our descent to California.....a good 60 minutes of lots of turbulence). 

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel (which got us into the park 30 minutes earlier than the regular time). 

We got to the hotel around noon.  It was still raining a little bit but we decided to head straight to Guardians of the Galaxy (formerly known as Tower of Terror).  Sarah was scared and I was pretending like I wasn't scared.  

But we did it and loved it and were also terrified to go on it again. 

We ate dinner then went on a few rides over at the PIXAR Pier.  

Monsters Inc. ride 

We stopped to watch a Spiderman show which was one of the more disappointing parts of our trip.   It lasted about 5 minutes and Spiderman wasn't that impressive.  

The Incredicoaster was SO fun!   I didn't realize there was a loop in the rollercoaster until we were actually doing it.   Oh my!

Coach Brody

Brad was at Bo's baseball tournament so they missed one of their basketball games. Thankfully Brody stepped in to coach. I don't know if we won the game but the boys played some good basketball and it was fun to watch. Brody did an awesome job!

Ollie was at his friend's house and they were hired to rake up some leaves. 

 It was raining but that didn't stop them.

Ski Craziness

Monday, January 2nd was New Year's Day observed. This meant most schools were closed and lots of other businesses. The ski pass was open but they did a poor job planning for this "holiday". Gunner & Sayler really wanted to go skiing and I thought we should make an effort to get up there. It was a lot of work but we were able to get it all figured out.   We arrived around 9:15 and thankfully found a parking spot.  If we had been 30 minutes later we would have been stuck in the ridiculously long line to get off the freeway.  

Zephyr summed it up best when he said "The snow wasn't great and these are the longest lift lines I have ever seen but it was a fun day on the mountain."   I think the kids would agree.  They didn't care about the inconveniences or waiting because they were with their cousins and that is all that matters.
