Airboat Ride - Part 2

More pictures from our Airboat ride.   The kids all loved it but we all agree we wish we would have seen more alligators.   We only saw 3. 

Aside from the alligator sightings, it was really cool to be in the bayou and race through the waterways.   We went through one section which was the inspiration for a scene from the animated movie The Princess and the Frog.

Our tour guide grew up in the swamps and knew a lot about the area.   He was also a really big guy who has wrestled alligators.  

Airboat Ride-Part 1

New Orleans has been on our list.   I have never been but Brad has been a few times.   I asked him what things he thought we should do to get a New Orleans experience.   At the top of his list was an airboat ride.  We were able to get tickets and made it there in time for our reservation.  

The kids were excited and a little nervous.

Hot tub swimming

One of the things we try to look for at RV parks is a swimming pool.  We were excited to learn the Frog City RV park had one.  We were all hot and sweaty from the humidity so we were looking for a way to cool off.   We were surprised when we got into the hottest pool we have ever been in.  It was like a hot tub.  It didn't take long for us to get out.   

It did end up making for a nice morning swim. 

Whataburger

We have had a combination of eating out and finding food to eat in the RV.   When we do get to eat out we like to try something new.   We have been seeing Whataburger restaurants for a while now so we finally decided to try it out.  To me it was another fast food restaurant but Colt thinks it’s the best fast food hamburger he has had.  

Frog City RV Park

After Shreveport we headed to Lafayette and stayed at Frog City RV park.   It’s a cute little RV place (although still close to the freeway).  

We didn’t know it would actually live up to it’s name.   I was washing dishes when this frog appeared and freaked me out!   The kids thought it was so fun! 

Happy 14th!

We are celebrating our last March birthday for our first born.  It’s always a special day when I get to celebrate the day I became a mom.  

But even more importantly we get to celebrate Brody.   

His birthday wish was to be with his cousins in Florida but we are behind a few days.  I’m sure it will still be a big party.
