Salt Dough Ornaments

I love having the kids home from school for Christmas Break. It's a nice change of pace for us. But I have to admit we are going a little stir crazy, especially with the rain and cold. Although I think its mostly the littlest ones that are hardest to handle because they require the most "entertainment".  So on a whim I made some salt dough so we could make some ornaments.  It kept them entertained for 30 minutes and they were excited about it.   It was a mess and I had to keep my patience in check because it wasn't the lazy day I was hoping for.

I'm thankful I can make these memories with them, even though they can wear me out.

Ginnaty Light House

It was cold and rainy so we decided to skip our trip to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens and went to the Ginnaty Light House. We have done this for the past few years. Unfortunately, this year was the most disappointing. It seemed like they didn't have as many lights as normal and the kids were disappointed they didn't get any presents, which they have gotten in the past.  (I wasn't disappointed about that part).

Nevertheless, it was still fun to see and we are always amazed by the amount of lights required to decorate a house like this.

Frozen Yogurt

Brad took Brody & Colt up to the mountain to go skiing. So I took the other 3 to Frozen Yogurt. They always have a kids movie playing so its actually a little relaxing for me.

Santa Buddy

Brad's friend Ed came over to give the kids Christmas presents. They call him Uncle Buddy. He was so kind and bought all of them a bunch of lego sets that they had to share.

Little did we know that it would cause a little bit of a ruckus amongst the boys.  After they settled down they were appreciative of the kind gesture by Santa Buddy.

Drive Thru Nativity

Calvary Chapel Eastside puts on a Live Drive Thru Nativity every year. It is now on our Christmas list of things to do.  We went on a Friday night (which I don't think we have done before) and had our longest wait, about 30 minutes.  Even though we were getting restless and a little cranky, in the end it was worth every minute we had to wait.   They did a fabulous job!  The acting, the sets, and the effort to put this on was awesome!

There he is, baby Jesus!

Darby kept saying we saw the real baby Jesus.  So cute!

1st grade Winter Concert

Colt had his 1st grade winter concert the other night. We are always anxious to see how he does as he isn't one to volunteer to perform.  You can tell from the look on his face that he was a little nervous. He did a great job singing.....and to our surprise he was the one kid from his class who got up and spoke before they sang their song.  We were so proud of him!

This is the video of him speaking.  It's a little quiet so the teacher adjusts the microphone.  But the microphone starts slipping and Colt tries to follow it down.  It was so cute!
