Alki Beach

The week before school started I planned an outing with my friend Jen and her kids. We really hadn't hung out together so I thought it would be a good way to break up the week and a great chance for the kids to play together. We decided to meet up at Alki Beach.

Aside from the five minutes of yelling I did before we left, it was one of the most pleasant outings we have had.  The kids had a blast playing together.  The best part was Jen and I actually had real conversations without getting interrupted every few seconds.

Chasing waves

Building castles and moats.

Just chilling in the seaweed water.
Yuck!

Bo was a trooper staying up well past his nap time.

Proof that the moms were there!

We had so much fun.  We might make this an annual tradition.

Bingo & Piggy Back Rides

A few more pictures from our Labor Day Reunion weekend.

Darby was never afraid to do what the others were doing.

Playing BINGO

Bo has two little buddies his age.  Wyatt (red jacket) and Jensen.  It will be fun watching them grow up together.   They are all so stinkin' cute!

Yes, I was there!

Piggy Back Rides.
These were fun for the kids....until it ended in a face crash for Darby.

Darby was getting a piggy back ride when the "ride" fell over and Darby toppled over the top crashing face first into the gravel road.  Thankfully we have a Physician's Assistant and a NICU nurse on hand to help out.

She was WAY better than I thought she would be.  No ER visit and no missing teeth.  Just some swelling and bleeding (Now scabbed over)

A Glo Stick made things better.

It was a LONG drive home.  The kids didn't want to leave the Ranger Station which is always a sign of an awesome time.

Washoe Tournament

Every Saturday at the Reunion we have a washoe tournament. It's really fun now because the kids are totally into it too. Plus we have enough kids to have a kids tournament and an adult tournament.

The kids practicing.

Brad was paired up with Doug.  They were talking smack from the very beginning.  I think Doug was doing the most talking (if you can believe that).

But in fairness to them....they won!  Their final game was won very quickly and they were both very pleased.

Abi & Ollie won the kids tournament.

There were only a few tears of disappointed kids.

Family Reunion

We left last Thursday to head down to the Ochoco Ranger Station for an annual family reunion (Brad's family). We decided to break up our trip and stayed at a hotel in The Dalles on Thursday night.

It made our drive on Friday much shorter but it still seemed like it took forever to get there.

Once we were there the kids were happy and I hardly saw them again.

They got these orange (Oregon State) sunglasses from Uncle Dave.

One of our favorite things is to hike up to the helicopter pad.  The kids decided they wanted to make  a drone pad.  There were a few drones at the reunion so the kids loved watching them.

The kids loved playing and exploring on top of the hill.
