Our Family

Colt & Ollie wanted to make "people" again and this time they made our family.

It was fun to see their creative work but it was a bit of a struggle to get them to clean it all up.

Ollie & Bo

The kids often and randomly want to hold Bo. It always seems to be right when I'm about to feed him and then they forget that they wanted to when I'm done.

This time I was able to get a few pictures of Ollie & Bo.

And Ollie LOVES to sing so he sang to Bo.  He is singing in an unusual voice.

2 YEARS!

Sometimes it is still hard to believe that 2 years ago I had the biggest surprise of my life when the doctor said "It's a girl!"

We still aren't sure how she snuck in amongst all the boys but Darby is definitely a special part of our family.  She brings a sweet sensitive side to things, the first to hug and make sure everyone is ok.  But she also isn't afraid to get in on the action even if that means biting, hitting or pulling hair.

She is left handed and seems to already have a keen sense of athletic things.  I'm sure part of this is because she is surrounded by boys but it will be fun to see if the sports interest continues.

She is just starting to play with her dolls but the trucks, cars, and helicopters fit right in with her role playing.  It's been fun to watch this stage of exploration for our little girl.

Her vocabulary continues to explode and she is starting to form longer sentences.  Unfortunately, she also picks up on things her brothers say which isn't always appropriate.  The boys usually laugh right away which doesn't help in our quest to get her to stop.  She loves to make them laugh.

She loves being the little sister but is already showing "mom" tendencies as the older sister to Bo.  It will be fun to watch their relationship develop.

Happy 2nd Birthday Darby Joyce!

St. Patrick's Day

The leprechaun came to our house again. The silly little guy left footprints on our toilet, turned the water green, turned our milk green and left a box of Lucky Charms for the kids.

We went through all our clothes to find some festive green.  I was disappointed that we didn't get a picture last year so we got one before it was time for bed.

You have to love all the different poses and attempts at a good picture.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Blue Ribbon

While I was gone at my ladies weekend, there was a blue ribbon handed out to Colt.

This was made by Brad and awarded to Colt for doing blue ribbon work while on the toilet.
(I don't know all of the story but I do know they all thought it was the greatest)

Singing ABC's

Darby's vocabulary continues to grow by leaps and bounds. One of the fun parts is listening to her try and sing songs. I was able to get her to sing the ABC's. She isn't perfect yet but its pretty darn close.

And how can you not love this smile?

More of the BIG 4!!!

The day after Ollie's birthday we picked up cousin Sean from school.  Then we went to the whale park.  It was so nice for me to have someone else to keep an eye on the kids. As you can imagine, the park was packed.  Sean does a great job with the kids and chased the boys around for a long time.

One of Ollie's dinner requests was to have Cat in the Hat Pancakes for dinner.  So that is what we had for his birthday dinner.  He doesn't look too happy about it in this shot, but he was.

Posing with his brothers.
(but his arm covered up his face)

Ollie also celebrated by making chocolate chip cookies with Sean.  It was his request.

We love this big 4 year old and still find it hard to believe he is already this old.
