Birthday playing

After our trip to Krispy Kreme we decided to take advantage of the somewhat dry weather and went to Squak Mountain Park. The kids had a blast and we were so thankful to get them outside to play.

I took this video (sideways) of the kids going down the slide.  About 3 seconds in you can see a little girl in the background that falls off the steps.  She was ok.  

I think she was more scared than anything.

Ollie turns 3!

On Monday Ollie turned 3! 

We had a great day celebrating his birthday. He is such a wonderful part of our family. 

Brody & Colt decorated his door the night before. 

 

I asked Ollie what he wanted for his birthday meals.  He never gave me an answer for breakfast but we finally decided on Cinnamon Rolls (the truth is they sounded like a good option to me)

Lunch:  Madagascar Macaroni & Cheese

Dinner:  Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup

It looks like he is praying but he's not.  Just holding his hands as if he were going to. 

Brody & Colt were at school.  Darby was napping.  Ollie helped me make his birthday cake. 

After we picked up Colt from preschool we joined the Welke's for a trip to Krispy Kreme.

Survivor

One of the shows Brad and I watch together (on demand) is Survivor. The boys have never seen it but they have seen small glimpses of it when they have been trying to go to bed. (one more drink of water, I need to go potty etc.) They were asking questions about it today and then decided to get dressed up like Survivor. Brody came up with the idea and I'm not sure where he got the idea of no shirt and necklaces but he did it. His brothers were quick to follow his lead. 

I helped them think of one "game" but they thought that wasn't cool enough.  There wasn't much we could do inside the house.  Maybe someday they can play Survivor outside. 

 

Balloon

I am not a big fan of balloons. But I have decided to put up with them for a few days after we receive them or blow them up ourselves.  

Darby LOVES this balloon. 

Front Porch Rocker

Whenever we are waiting for someone to come over, or there is big action in our neighborhood (the UPS truck, garbage trucks etc.) Ollie just wants to sit on the rocking chair. He wants his blanket so he can be nice and comfortable. And of course he is always ready with a smile.

We had another birthday party for Brad. This time his good friends came over which included 5 other kids. It was a beautiful day and we spent most of the time playing outside. Our cul-de-sac was full of motorized vehicles and bicycles. And we enjoyed some yummy birthday cake too.

Brad taught or encouraged Brody to jump off the step on the deck. I don't think I need to say much more, you know what I am thinking.
