The Spit

It's called the Homer Spit. A small piece of land that juts out into the water.  They have a bunch of shops and restaurants and we had a fun time exploring.

The halibut hook.

Shops along the spit.

Eating some lunch....

....and ice cream.

Sunsets

We took some pictures of the Sunset. This was WAY past my bedtime. I didn't even look at the time because I knew it would drive me a bit crazy.

We took this picture of the group and thankfully someone realized Ollie wasn't in it.  So we got him and took another one.

Salmon Dinner

While we were waiting in the lobby of the RV park the kids made up this silly game. I love it when they do things like this.

Oh and then we cooked up some salmon that we had caught on the river.  We cooked up quite a bit and I was nervous it was too much because I wasn't sure if my kids would like it.  They devoured it and we didn't have any salmon left.

Brad & Jeff used the grill at the RV park to cook up our salmon.

The Fishing Lagoon

Just minutes from our campground was a fishing Lagoon.  Brad, Colt & Darby did the most fishing in it and Brad actually caught a fish (which made up for his disappointment on the river).

It was almost comical watching all the fish jump and all the people that came to try and catch fish.  There were actually lots of people catching fish.

Campfires & Dinner

We drove to Homer and were at an RV park with a view of the water. It was beautiful!

Jeff & Tracey took us to the Homer Brewing Company.  (Brad & Colt were back fishing).

We had some campfire time.

It rained for a bit in the afternoon and evening so we planned a meal out where we could get some "fresh" fish.    I ordered some Halibut and it was delicious.   The kids had hamburgers.  :)

Not a great picture of me, but we were admiring the painting and how it looked like fish scales.

Beware of Moose

After fishing we stopped to have some dinner. Then we drove to Homer. It was about an hour and a half drive but since it's so light out it takes a while for it to actually get dark.

This sign tells how many Moose have been killed on the roadway since July 1st.  The number was already at 24.

While we were driving to Homer, Colt spotted a Moose.  We still aren't sure how he was able to see it from the road but we were excited to see one in the Wild.

And I was so thankful we never hit a Moose, because I was really worried about it.
